I am a pharmacist in my personal life. Life is about medicine. Currently, we ourselves are quite scared about one thing. That is adulteration and counterfeit medicine. Not only in the field of medicine, there is no such field left in Bangladesh where adulteration and counterfeiting have not fallen into its clutches.
Just watching the news, such news is full. Somewhere adulterated rice has been found, somewhere adulterated pulses have been found, somewhere adulterated chocolate, juice and many other things are found. The most terrible thing is that adulteration is in the medicine. That is, the thing that will save our lives will become the cause of our death.
There is a class of people whose mentality, whose greed is so obvious that even the wild animals of the forest have not descended like them. It is these kinds of people who make adulterated medicine, adulterated food, and adulterated products and supply them to the market. They do not think for a moment. What will happen to those who will consume these, those who will use these, those who will eat these? They snatch the hard-earned income of hard-working people and market adulterated goods.
As a nation, we are such people who knowingly harm ourselves. It may also be that I am harming someone else. Another person is harming me. They do not think about this. They only understand their own profit. They understand their own progress. Yet for their personal progress, they are harming us as a nation.
Products are counterfeited in such a way that there is no way to tell which is fake and which is real. Manufacturing companies are also in danger because of this. They themselves are forced to make changes within themselves to prevent counterfeiting.
Such is our strange plight. We are a nation that is adept at making adulteration and counterfeiting. Sometimes it seems that our humanity and conscience may also be counterfeit. Which is why we are able to do such things. Only social resistance and strict administrative repression can free us from this.
