Brave or Stupid
I gave up my job, gave away all my possessions and sold my home. With no direct income coming in and no safety net I decided to embrace my middle age and travel the World. What about your pension? When will you get a proper job again? What about your family? A constant barage of anxious questions and intrigue followed my decision. How about your safety travelling alone?? Personally I felt it was more of a risk staying in one place, living my life in a safety bubble with no surprises. It's so liberating having few possessions, living frugally and getting my joy from the people I meet and the destinations I see. My nights are now filled with walks on the beach, interesting conversations with new people and sunsets in different continents. I have made new friends, seeing sights that will stay with me for a lifetime and woken up for the first time in years with a joy for living. The biggest decision I have to make on a daily basis is what to eat and where to spend my days.. Modern living can bring its rewards..financially and practically. I do not judge others for their choices..but I chose to live my latter part of my life free from expected constraints and with a zest for new adventures!!
