When George Bush Jr. was President, the Republicans would admonish Democrats to respect the office even if they didn't respect the occupant. After Barack Obama was elected, the Republicans and Democrats traded roles. Now that Trump is elected, I anticipate that this sentiment will make a resurgence like never before, but it is fundamentally wrong.
The office of the President of the United States of America, like all political offices, represents trespasses against our rights as individuals to life, liberty, and property. No matter who occupies it, the office is used for murder and pillage on a global scale. Changing the occupant does not address the fundamental principles the office represents, and none of those principles are worthy of respect.
Everything the government has is stolen, whether usurped authority or plundered wealth. How can a voter grant to someone else the moral authority to do a thing the voter cannot morally do himself? There is no agent/principal relationship between the citizen and the politician. "Democracy" is a false god, not a noble means of societal progress. The Bill of Rights has not prevented the State from infringing on rights, and their corrupt courts can excuse any blatant trespasses through sophistry when the legislature does not write a "law" to "permit" the trespass outright.
No one alive today consented to the political system, but we have been told since birth to submit or die. That is terrorism, not leadership. Even if we grant the common assumption that the Constitution of the United States is some form of binding contract, the government has clearly violated it continually since Washington's presidency. Government is organized crime.
