12.5 km run inspired by a good podcast episode
Only intended to do around 5 km today, but I started listening to a Tim Ferriss podcast episode with Mike Pollin about psychedelic research and societal revolution. Definitely a good listen, and he had some real gold nugget phrases that shifted my thinking in a good way. I liked that he described a psychedelic trip as almost a rehearsal of death, connecting us with the source of our energy and intelligence such that the fear of our eventual demise is lessened.
I also like that he pointed out that most cultures throughout history have used some sort of plant medicine or psychedelic experience as a rite of passage into adulthood and that we've lost that ritual in modern cultures because of the fear cultivated by governmental agencies in the 60s.
What are your thoughts on the use of psychedelics for rites of passage?
Stay tuned ;)
