Being here I feel my heart racing, being so high is liberating even though I have always felt low to the ground. We rarely have the opportunity to make difficult decisions, as we always prefer to avoid them, although honestly speaking some of us are not made for this life, so we just run away from everything.
Although it is not the first time in this place, today I feel calmer, my brain for some time is calmer, I do not pass alone, but after exploding I pass. This time I am not afraid, and many times I thought when I came to this bridge that it would be my last time.
It was always an excellent place to cry and unburden everything, being so lonely was like a good support group, did not help or give advice, but certainly knew how to listen, between the river, the bridge, and the moon (although sometimes could not be present) had a good circle, which occasionally joined the rain.
We were a select group, something like a private club, since apart from me there was no other person, the bridge kept record of some others who had come before me, life was not very fair sometimes, so being here was just a sequel of what the past and present had been doing to me through the timeline of my life.
This day, after a long time I decided to talk to my select group for the last time, I had just made a decision that would change my life forever. I know that the moon thought that I would never make this decision, the bridge always believed in me, although I knew that even when someone came to this place, after a while I would never see them again.
I always felt that of the four the river was the saddest, rarely could do anything to help, and always used to hug everyone for the last time, so I also decided to give him the opportunity to help me and hug me.
This was my last talk, so I proceeded to take a big breath of air, and after the biggest scream I had given in that place, I calmed down, closed my eyes and proceeded to go to the river, the moon did not stop looking at me, I felt fear in every vein of my body, it was not as I imagined it would be, but simply things sometimes do not go as planned; although we have spent many years thinking that it would be so.
The breeze hit my face to the point of making me understand that he was always with me and with all the previous ones, he helped me cry to finish releasing that pressure that my chest had stored for years.
I did not dare to open my eyes, and for a second I saw myself in those dreams in which I dreamed of this situation, for a second I was really scared believing that it was the same dream, and squeezing my eyes and while fear paralyzed my body I waited to see how everything would turn out.
Quickly, the river wrapped me with its cold, and I felt a peace, the same that the river transmitted every night, I understood that it was never sadness but peace, as if the river for years had stored every tear I shed and gave them back to me in peace.
The cold and the water covered me completely and when I was ready to face my reality the bridge took me by the ankles and simply went up, the moon looked stunned or at least I thought so, as I felt it was shining like never before, and when I got completely out of the river I felt so free, like never before, I had finally managed to leave my past behind and the river simply took it away forever.
So that day, my last day, I laughed like never before, and I was happy, just for the fact of reflecting that I would never worry again, I felt that the river laughed with me while for the first time tears of happiness fell into it, the moon and the bridge had passed the scare, and they could already hear my laughter, that tonight it would not be crying.
If you change your mind, you change your life. I can't do anything to fix the past, I've left it behind, but simply know I will fight for my future and make it the way I want it to be, because my story went with the river and will surely be left behind, in the sea while I write my own new book.
