I wanted to do a post this morning, but what should it be about? My world seems kind of small these days, well, not in my head 馃槀, but in the close-to-home life I am living at the moment. I just don't seem to be doing much of anything interesting.... and we all know whose fault THAT is ! (hand me that mirror please)
Since I didn't seem to have a single subject that popped forward, a random post is what has happened.
The other evening a small storm was coming in and the wind made all the fun stuff come alive. I was alerted by the three sets of metal chimes I have hanging around my front porch clanging away and when I came out, the spinners were whirling happily, so I took a burst of photos to make an animation. What was kind of funny to me was that the smaller spinner that is up on the corner of the porch was just leaning against the rail waiting for me to assign it a more permanent spot. Even with that, one side of it was free and whirling away !
I loved it. Anything kinetic makes me happy.
The night before, I caught happily lit clouds as the sun was going down behind the trees. I never get tired of the fun ways the clouds look in different light. If you look closely in the clouds up on the left, you can see a tiny crescent moon hanging there.
The other week when I was showing you the fun stuff in my nightstand, I looked through the little drawers of the old jewelry box that is there and came across again this MIA bracelet that I got when I was a teenager. Every time I have come across it since then, I wonder whatever happened to CDR David Greiling. I went out on the net to see if there was anything that told about him and found the info at the link below. Interesting.... but never found.
When I was at Mom's last week, once again a sweet purple climatis was hugging the sun dial that is bolted to a brick dividing wall. I know I've had a photo of it before from another year, but I love it, so I took photos again.
...and another close up. I love the kind of photo it makes with the metal and flowers entwined.
NEXT... we have cheese. A few weeks ago for my Mother's birthday I showed you the spread my sister and niece put on that included many kinds of breads, spreads, fruits and cheeses. The one I am about to show you is not one that was there, but one I bought after that when I was inspired to try more kinds.
On my next grocery order I chose this one, a farmhouse cheddar that had been soaked in red wine. Would it be good? I didn't know !
A couple of days later I opened it. Odd looking isn't it? I cut off a small hunk and then cut that into small bite sized pieces. At first taste I was undecided, but like most new edibles, they always deserve more than one bite as your tongue and brain might not know what to make of the first taste....LOL ! Mine didn't, but after a few more bites, taking time to savor it a bit, I found that I really liked it. The farmhouse cheddar was white and not yellow and was a medium strength. While chewing, the wine flavor did not step to the front, although it was definitely there, however once the cheese was swallowed, the leftover flavor in my mouth was ALL red wine as if I had just taken a sip of it from a glass.
I put some of it together with pecans and grapes for an afternoon snack
I quite liked it and will buy it again one day. I think it makes a great option to include in a snack either at home or some shared function.
My random post to go with my random day. So many things that can be done. How do I decide which I will do?
Hope you are having or have had a good day wherever you are and whatever you choose to do.
