I haven't painted a lot for a good while and it seems when I would finally sit down at the art table and open some paint, nothing I liked really came out of me. That doesn't help inspire me to go back soon.
Sometimes I wonder if it is time to throw out the paints, clean up the art area and get half my living room into a more normal place. I've thought about it more than once, brush my hands off and just be done with it.
But then, I didn't do anything.

I've gotten more like that as I have gotten older. I still have all the thoughts about what I could do or might do. I still feel creative, but then.... nothing. I have very little follow-through on it.
Maybe tomorrow.... my brain tells me......
I have pondered on how I seem to be doing that and I don't really like it about me. It's not like I don't notice.
This last time I thought about chucking it all in, I then reminded myself that I have SO much paint here and I have SO many canvasses just quietly waiting their turn to try to be a masterpiece or a dud. I at least should splash all the paint and mussy up all the cavasses first ......
I've been watching past re-runs of a show called Fake or Fortune, where an art expert and a journalist (plus other experts they use for different things) take pieces of artwork that other people own who think their art is by someone famous, but have no real proof. Sometimes there are family stories about it, some turn out to be true and some not at all. I find it fascinating as they try to follow the trail of the painting from a hundred or two years ago to try to find how it got where it is now or if it is just a fake.
Do I picture myself among the greats??? LOL !! Of course not, not even close and I have no aspirations for the such, but it does amaze me how amazingly good some famous dead artist were and how crappy some of their work looks too. Like every artist, there are good and bad paintings. Even for the Masters... .everything they created wasn't a masterpiece. With their name on it though or when proven it was done by them whether it is signed or not, there are people willing to pay gazillions of dollars to have them.
We all have to be a little crazy about something.... .right?
So....I am trying to get my head back into my painting. The painting I have here is not anything like what I usually paint. Trying new things helps hold my attention. I still have a bold colored background and of course the stark white that gives it a clean and neat vibe. Me? Clean and neat painting?? What on earth is up with that ?? Still, I somehow like it, two colors only. As simple as it is, I still find that I am attracted to it.
I hope you are all doing well. I just clocked out of work for the day less than an hour ago. I'll probably go rummage around in the kitchen and see what I can scare up for supper.
