As a teacher, I never tell my students to draw or paint like a subject. I never tell them that the exercises you presented in class today did not resemble that face or subject.
It's very important that they learn how to see and how to hold a brush and how to paint. Because imitation happens over time. If you try your best to make your painting look like this or that face, you don't become an artist. You become an automatic machine that can imitate.
Focus on your technique and your own feelings and the feelings of the subject, and don't aim to imitate. It is very valuable to learn to enjoy painting with all your heart. When you try to imitate, you will not understand the true joy of creating art. The result of understanding feelings is the emergence of different artistic styles.
Now you see that artificial intelligence can simulate, but a real artist creates emotions, and it is among emotions that simulation also manifests itself. When you create a painting with your emotions, after finishing the work, you realize that art is about understanding emotions, and then new doors open for you. As I told you in the post "Color in Painting" never force yourself to follow the main color of the subject, here I also tell you not to upset yourself if your painting does not resemble the subject.
In the previous post, we learned that we can paint a red apple blue, or a yellow banana blue, or any color we like and feel is close to our mental space. Here too, don't be attached to the subject. The same apple, banana, face, etc., whatever is your subject can be shaped as you feel. The apple can be square, and the face can be yellow.... You are the creator of your own mental world.
Attached painting: This is a portrait of my father, done with charcoal on cardboard and then finished with acrylic paint. The size of the work is about 25 x 20 centimeters. I hope you enjoy it. If you would like me to paint your picture in my style, send me your picture.
