π I STARTED PAINTING A LADY WITH FLOWERS ON HER HEAD. NOW MY OWN HEAD NEEDS FLOWERS. πΊπ
Have you ever started something with so much confidence that even you believed you knew what you were doing? π
That was me.
I stood in front of a 7 Γ 6 ft canvas with my brushes, paints, and the confidence of a man who had already sold the painting for millions in his imagination. π€£
The plan was simple: Paint a beautiful lady with flowers on her head.
Simple, right?
JUST PAINT A LADY. ADD FLOWERS. COLLECT YOUR MONEY. GO HOME. ππ
But nobody told me that the canvas would start looking like a landlord demanding rent.
First of all, who sent me to paint something this big? Who gave me the audacity? Who looked at me and said, "This young man can handle six feet of canvas"?
Because right now, even my brushes are asking me questions. ππ€£
And the funniest part?
The lady I'm painting is looking absolutely gorgeous. Flowers on her head, looking peaceful, looking elegant, looking like someone who has never experienced financial hardship.
Meanwhile, the artist behind her is experiencing ALL the hardship. ππ
She's there looking like she has millions in her account, and I'm here calculating how much paint I've used and whether I can afford to replace it.
MADAM, PLEASE. CAN YOU AT LEAST LOOK LIKE YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT YOUR ARTIST IS GOING THROUGH? πππ
And don't even get me started on the flowers.
You would think flowers are innocent things. πΊ
NO!
Flowers are enemies of artists.
One flower becomes five. Five becomes ten. Before you know it, you're painting an entire botanical garden on somebody's head.
And the lady is still looking at me like, "You haven't finished?"
MA, I'M TRYING MY BEST. ππ
But you know what? Despite all the drama, I love what I do.
There is something beautiful about standing in front of a blank canvas and slowly turning it into something that didn't exist before.
Even if the canvas is bigger than my future.
Even if the paint is finishing faster than my money.
Even if the flowers are threatening my mental stability. π€£π€£
An artist's life is not easy, but at least we get to suffer creatively. ππ¨
Anyway, if you see a beautiful lady with flowers on her head, please appreciate the painting.
But if you see the artist, kindly buy him food. ππ€£
He has been through a lot.
Question for my fellow artists: What's that one painting you started with confidence but later regretted starting? ππ
Tell me in the comments. Let us suffer together. π¨π
