Looking back in past freewrite prompt, this has captured my attention and decided to choose who cares for my today's freewrite. The 5-Minute Freewrite Challenge is an initiative of @mariannewest back in 2017, and I am glad to get back to my freewrite activities.
Ricky was stuck in the city.
Can't go home, as the lockdown was imposed.
Got a call from a relative.
His mom suffered stroke.
Talked to his mom on the phone.
Never thought it would be the last time.
The last time to hear his mom's precious voice.
Hospitals won't accept his mom as they're focused
on Covid19 patients.
Went to another hospital, and she was accepted.
Nurses are taking her to the section
where there are Covid19 patients.
Ricky tried to talk to the doctor
through the phone and asked to bring him
to a private room.
No room available for patients.
He tried to ask the local government
if he can be brought home.
Finally, he was provided the help.
While on the road, he received a call
from the relative.
Her mom gave up, and was brought
to the morgue.
Ricky felt like the world crashed on him.
But if he will give up, her mom won't be happy
if she's still alive seeing him
in such state.
Amidst the pandemic, and everyone are on crisis,
he's thinking "who cares on my situation?*
He tried to convinced himself
other people are in worse situations.
As he got to the morgue,
he just hugged his mom, and cried.
We all do go through different experiences during the lockdown. Many people has been complaining being stuck in the house for months, and longing to finally go out. There are so much complains, but we can also think of the people experiencing more difficult circumstances like the freewrite story above.
