In this episode of Minecraft Hardcore I finally start working on my main house, as well as doing some side work as well.
Episode #13 - New House
I started this episode by chopping down the trees in my tree farm because they had fully grown. Also I've changed the texture pack to Faithful x32 instead of the default one which is x16, this should make things look a bit better.
Then I decided to finally start working on my main house, because the little shack I was in was already too crammed up and there wasn't much space for anything. To be honest I had a vague idea of what I wanted the house to look like, so I just started placing blocks and I'll figure it out on-the-go.
It was night time already, and I ran out of wooden slabs so I went back to the base to sleep and make more slabs to work with in the morning.
After some time the floor of the house is done and I can now start to think of how I'm gonna put walls and separate rooms.
While I was taking time off from building the house, I decided I can make a small "waterfall" on the right of my wheat farm. It didn't turn out as good as I wanted it to, but it's not that bad.
One thing I'm trying to stay away from in this playthrough is building with symmetry. On first look everything is nice with it, but once you start overdoing it, it becomes a trouble and more of a problem than something fancy....
I put "support" beams for the house. Not that it needed them really, but it makes it look more realistic.
Some sugarcane farming while taking a break from doing other stuff.
I've made a few more furnaces in my little shack so I can smelt more stuff at once. I'm thinking of making the walls of the house with stone bricks mixed in with regular bricks made from clay.
