The most famous legend about the birth of this holiday comes from Rome.
While Christianity was a brand new and young religion, lived priest Valentin.
The former Roman Emperor, Claudius I, ordered that soldiers should not get engaged or married because he think that soldiers (who are married or engaged) would not want to fight in wars, but would rather stay at home with their families.
All priests decided to respect this decision of the Emperor, so they no longer wanted to marry soldiers.
However, the priest named Valentin ignored the Emperor's decision and began secretly marrying all the young couples who wanted it. He was working that until the authorities caught him and throw him into prison, and on 14 February he was executed. Shortly after his death, the people declare Valentina a saint.
Allegedly, the very custom of sending a greeting card to Valentine's Day comes from St. Valentine.
Here are two different interpretations.
According to the First, St. Valentin is from prison sent a letter to girl he was supposed to be in love. The letter signed with "your Valentin".
According to the second interpretation, while St. Valentin was in jail, people left hidden messages in his dungeons or smuggled them into the cell. If St. Valentin found it, he would pray for the people who wrote them.
And in the end, for st.Valentine's Day is not important no gifts, no money, nor anything money can buy. It is important to remember the beloved person and show him/her that you him/her.
Happy St. Valentine's Day
