Blackbird
You stamp me out
and run all over town.
Like a blackbird
singing a macabre song.
I don’t remember
feeling settled.
You draw me in your hue
and pick on the debris, like that bird.
There, they’re ringing the bell.
Hear how it clangs.
Can’t you hear it’s ominous tone
So deaf to destruction.
I’m shivering in your glacier.
It’s so hard.
No nuance of forgiveness.
You’re taciturn and cold.
Where have I sent your light?
Closed, spinning into a black hole.
I want to hold your hand
And tell you...and tell you.
We coveted the crystal.
dreaming images into translucence.
Simple fortune
makes a mockery
of me, of you.
