Hello, my dear Hivers!
Today, I am excited to share events with you during my 4th day, which is a student trainee in the probation office.
The day started off rainy. The rain was coming down hard during my morning commute to the office. I decided to take a three-wheeler so that I could go to the office without being too soaked, especially since the office is located slightly in the inner area where the tricycles can enter directly.
As I rode the three-wheeler, I still got slightly damp, just a little, but still noticeable. I was carrying a lot of things this time, so I was really grateful that I had a fellow intern, who happened to be riding the same three-wheeler, seated right behind me. He offered to hold some of my things because I could not take them all comfortably. Finally, after some minutes of settling in, I got my things back from him.
When we reached at Bogo City, the rain had thankfully down a bit and I didn't get too drenched. I was pleased to have arrived early, as one of my personal goals is to consistently be punctual, particularly during our morning time-ins.
Noon came and we went for lunch to our usual carinderia nearby. At that time, since rain already stopped, we were able to take our time and enjoy our lunch. The view from this place is really relaxing for me, all green leaves and plants, which I personally love. After a busy and stressful morning, seeing this green scenery calmed me down and got me refreshed.
After lunch, we went back to office. By 2 pm, I had a client assigned so I proceeded to interview and help him. While I was still in the middle of interviewing a client, Kuya Andrew asked me what name should be printed on my name tag. Since I was stuck in the moment, I replied it quickly without thinking and said "Mikay." But when I finally saw my name tag, that's when I realized my nickname has two syllables, while most of my co-interns went with a small, one syllable names. I thought from myself, "Ah, if I had known, I would go with "mics" instead, which is small and easy to remember! But honestly, it’s totally fine. What matters most is that it still represents who I am.
Once we were done preparing the name tags, I returned to my table and started reviewing the documents. I later did it to make it easier for me when I needed to create a draft or summary. Going to the documents ahead of time helps me better understand the flow of information and prepares me for any writing tasks that can follow.
Oh and one reason I took a picture of myself while reviewing the papers, is not only for entertainment, but for a purpose. One of the requirements for our internship is to compile the documentation of our activities until the end of our duty, and it contains our photos in action. Taking this type of photo is a great to remind us of our work and meaningful moments which we experience during our journey as a student intern.
