Hello everyone,

As you may or may not know, I am currently undertaking my national service, which is a mandatory one-year service program you must complete after graduating from the university. Otherwise, you are not eligible to work in this country. It is the equivalent of any work you may have done after your undergrad except that you would not be paid for this particular year.

Having graduated in the field of Geology, I decided to opt for a geologically sound company in the mining sector in order to build upon the fresh knowledge I have obtained from school. However, it can sometime be very tedious with an enormous workload from time to time, especially, these past few days.

I've become so tired of feeling this recent fatigue all the time due to my heavy workload at work.

It seems like every day, more and more responsibilities are added to my plate, which is taking a toll on my physical and mental health. I'm constantly feeling stressed, burnt out, and like I'm not able to keep up with the demands of my work.

I understand that work is a necessary part of life, but this level of stress and exhaustion is not sustainable, especially as a national service trainee. At times, I feel like I'm sacrificing my well-being for my job, and it's not fair. If you knew anything about mining, you would understand where I'm coming from.

I want to be able to enjoy my life outside of the work, but it's difficult when I'm so drained all the time.

Sometimes, I'm frustrated with the lack of understanding from coworkers, and even my fellow colleagues. It seems like they don't realize the impact a heavy workload can have on someone's mental and physical health. They just expect everyone to keep pushing through, no matter how much I'm struggling.

It's not just me that's affected by this, it's also my family and friends. I don't have the energy to spend time with them and make some precious memories because I'm always so exhausted. I'm missing out on important moments in my life because of work with my social life in shambles.

No one has to be put in a state of putting their peace of mind at peace. Leaders and employers must therefore strive to understand the importance of taking care of their employees. They need to be able to work in a healthy and sustainable environment, without sacrificing our own health or condition.

It's time for change. Companies have to device several means to mitigate fatigue at the workplace. that way, employees can conserve energy and work efficiently.

Thank you for your attention.
