Church of San Antonio de Padua
Since 1960 the church consecrated to San Antonio de Padua located in the small town of Clarines is considered a national historic monument and it is a construction whose beginnings can be traced back to 1755, that is to say it is a perfect example of baroque architecture in colonial times, But the most incredible of all is that it is still standing, this because it is located in an area characterized by high seismic activity, where nature has moved with great force many times, devastating cities and mourning entire villages.

Desde el año 1960 la iglesia consagrada a San Antonio de Padua ubicada en la pequeña ciudad de Clarines es considerada como un monumento histórico nacional y es que se trata de una construcción cuyos inicios podemos rastrear hasta el año 1755, es decir se trata de una muestra perfecta de la arquitectura barroca en tiempos coloniales, pero aun lo más increíble de todo esto es que aún se mantenga en pie, esto debido a que se encuentra ubicada en una zona que se caracteriza por una alta actividad sísmica, en donde múltiples ocasiones la naturaleza se ha movido con mucha fuerza devastando ciudades y enlutando a pueblos completos.

The church is located in the historic heart of the city, has an interesting access through a small boulevard that allows you to climb a small hill, thus finding this structure that thanks to the perspective a little high looks imposing and formidable. It is not necessary to be an expert in architecture to realize that the church is of baroque style, but what is really curious is that it is elevated on a Latin cross plan, where the pillars and semicircular arches generate a sublime environment, which not only transports us in time, but also allows us to transcend in a spiritual way, feeling in the middle of a quiet and calm environment, where we can connect with our inner self and at the same time is the ideal space to raise our prayers for the welfare and joy.
La iglesia se encuentra ubicada en pleno corazón histórico de la ciudad, cuenta con un interesante acceso a través de un pequeño bulevar que permite ascender una pequeña colina, encontrándose así con esta estructura que gracias a la perspectiva un poco alta luce imponente y formidable. No es necesario ser un experto en arquitectura para darse cuenta de que la iglesia es de estilo barroco, pero lo realmente curioso es que está elevada sobre una planta en forma de cruz latina, en donde los pilares y arcos de medio punto generan un entorno sublime, el cual no solo nos transporta en el tiempo, sino que también nos permite trascender de manera espiritual, sintiéndonos en medio de un ambiente silencioso y calmado, en donde nos podemos conectar con nuestro ser interno y al mismo tiempo es el espacio ideal para elevar nuestras oraciones en pro del bienestar y la alegría.
On this occasion my visit to this point was quite fleeting, besides the temple was already preparing to close its doors for the day, but despite all this I managed to see a tour and take some interesting pictures, which today I share with much affection. At this point it is important to emphasize that this temple is torn between deep contrasts, since on the outside it looks magnificent and imposing, but inside it is a simple and cozy space, it is also somewhat dark, but in general terms it is a combination that in my opinion seems perfect, because thanks to these elements we can fully enjoy every detail.
En esta ocasión mi paso por este punto Fue bastante fugaz, además el templo ya se preparaba para cerrar sus puertas por esa jornada, pero a pesar de todo ello logré ver un recorrido y tomar algunas interesantes fotografías, las cuales Hoy les comparto con mucho cariño. En este punto es importante Resaltar que este templo se debate entre profundos contrastes, puesto que por fuera luce magnífico e imponente, pero por dentro se trata de un espacio sencillo y acogedor, también es un tanto oscuro, pero en términos generales es una combinación que a mi criterio parece perfecta, ya que gracias a estos elementos logramos disfrutar a plenitud de cada detalle.
The altarpieces are undoubtedly a true work of art, all of them are gold leafed and represent the deep devotion of the oriental people for their saints and patron saints, besides it is an invaluable artistic sample, which surely we will not appreciate in constructions built in modern times.
Los retablos sin duda alguna son una verdadera obra de arte, todos se encuentran hojillados en oro y representan la profunda devoción del pueblo oriental por sus santos y patronos, además es una muestra artística invaluable, la cual seguramente no apreciaremos en construcciones levantadas en tiempos modernos.
The exterior walls of the church are characterized by dyeing black over time and this has generated numerous speculations and urban legends, but the most accepted explanations are that the frieze of the walls was made from lime and thanks to the saltpeter driven by the air from the coast this generates a chemical reaction that gradually stains the typical white walls with this peculiar color. But to tell the truth, I believe that this gives a very interesting touch to the whole structure, since it generates more interest and at the same time attracts many more visits and multiple photographic captures.
Las paredes exteriores de la iglesia Se caracterizan por teñirse de negro con el pasar del tiempo y sobre esto se han generado numerosas especulaciones y leyendas urbanas, pero las explicaciones más aceptadas son que el friso de las paredes fue elaborado a base de cal y gracias al salitre impulsado por el aire desde la costa esto genera una reacción química que poco a poco tiñe las típicas paredes blancas con este color tan peculiar. Pero a decir verdad, creo que esto le un toque muy interesante a toda la estructura, ya que permite generar mayor interés y al mismo tiempo atraer muchas más visitas y múltiples capturas fotográficas.
