Day 4 of Steemhop leaderboard grinding and this was the one where I finally broke through and landed on Leaderboard 65 😂. I opened http://steemhop.org and my only goal was to get past that TOP 52 wall that has been annoying me for days. The game loaded up on that same orange desert map with the little white bunny with the red ribbon and I was ready. First few runs were pure trash like always. Died at 2, died at 3, and I even got a -2 because I panicked and hopped straight into a purple car. The red and orange cars were flying across the road and I kept mistiming everything. But I told myself day 4 can’t be like day 3, I have to climb or I’ll be stuck forever.
After about 10 minutes of just dying over and over I finally found my rhythm. I stopped spamming and started actually watching the traffic. One hop at a time, no rushing. Got to 13 and felt okay, then pushed to 23, and then boom 33. That’s when I knew this run was different. The road section was clean, I dodged 3 cars back to back without breaking a sweat and made it to the train tracks. Trains are what usually end me in Steemhop but today I was patient. I waited for the gap, timed it right, and kept moving forward. The score kept climbing and I could see “TOP 52” sitting at the top of the screen so I knew I was about to beat my old high. Before this I always died because I got greedy for coins, but today I ignored them completely and just focused on survival.
The run that actually put me on Leaderboard 65 was stress. I got past the first road, cleared the first train, and then hit the section with multiple lanes and tracks at once. 33, 37, 38, 40, 41. I was holding my breath the whole time because cars were coming from one side and trains from the other. It was pure chaos but I was locked in. I got to 41 and for a second the game lagged and I thought that was it, but I recovered and kept hopping. Then a car clipped me on the last lane and that was game over. The big STEEM HOP logo popped up and I was mad for 2 seconds. But then I checked the leaderboard and saw my name at 65. Going from outside TOP 52 to actually being on the board felt crazy. All those failed runs finally paid off.
Ending day 4 with a high score of 41 and Leaderboard 65 is progress I’ll take any day. The video shows the whole thing, the early deaths, the mid runs, and then that one run where everything just clicked. Steemhop is still one of the most frustrating games because one bad hop resets you to 0, but when you’re in the zone it’s the most satisfying feeling. I watched the replay twice just to see how I made it past that last train section. For day 5 my goal is 50+ and maybe crack TOP 70. If I keep playing patient and stop chasing stupid coins I know I can do it. For now though, 41 and Leaderboard 65 is the new benchmark and I’m not stopping here. Leaderboard watch out 💪
