Hello everyone!
I trust we are all doing great in our respective locations. Well, this week's edition is about the survival and management of our mental health. The last thing most of us consider is our mental health. Our mental health is supposed to be in check to aid other functional activities in our system, but it is rather considered less or not at all. Our continuous exposure to most of these conditions that easily cause mental health breakdowns will definitely lead to mental failure.
The world today is currently facing challenges that require only mentally stable individuals to talk more about what is happening within their bodies. Survival is not easy in this world, especially in Nigeria. The struggle around little things that you should have just done without stress and the various disappointments that would come as one tries to carry out his or her daily activity—all this normally has an effect on our mental health, to the point of draining us physically. But the question is, "How do we survive it?"
Stress that may lead to a mental health breakdown
We all have our different ways of handling things, which is why most times it is considered that not all you see as stress is also seen as stress by another. Most likely saying, "A stressor to Mr. A isn't a stressor to Mr. B. There are limits to being stressed, and sometimes most of us go through it to the point of reaching those limits. Among everything we do, it is advisable to at least have a little time to rest. Having time to rest is a way of preparing oneself for the task ahead. Those tasks never stopped coming. There are always various tasks for us to carry out daily, and our ability to manage this keeps us stronger.
Survival
Surviving in this world today, to me, is just adapting to the whole situation. Adaptation will help us understand and find ways of handling this stress factor. The earlier we know this is where we find ourselves, the more we will definitely adapt to the whole huddle put forth.
How do I remain sound despite the struggle?
The struggle can be demanding, but there is always one thing we can do to keep us afloat. Sometimes considering it this way, "living or dying," Most of us will go for living; yes, that is what I consider most. I have to live in a world where there is so much struggle. For me to live, I need some moments for rest, exercise, and creative thinking. One of which I have observed to have an effect on me is having some good time to think. Plotting the way forward and how to go about the next move makes me stable. This may be the least you will do to keep yourself stable, but this is what works for me, which is why I said we all have different ways of handling things. You may choose to try something new.
