Guests from St. Petersburg came to us and, along with visiting the surrounding attractions, we went to the village of Petropavlovsk to see how people live in the Siberian outback.

The village of Petropavlovsk is located on the Kazyr River, about 80 kilometers from the district center of Kuragino.
The road to the village is very picturesque, but there is no asphalt pavement for the last thirty kilometers.

To better experience the flavor of the Siberian village, we leave the car on the outskirts and take a walk around the village.

Immediately at the entrance to the village we meet a grazing goat and horses.

I must say that the village is inhabited by very interesting people. During the collapse of the USSR, many different kinds of prophets and spiritual leaders appeared in the country. One of them, Sergei Torop, under the name Vissarion Christ, preached a departure from civilization to natural sources. His teaching was popular among the Soviet intelligentsia. Some sold apartments in Moscow, Riga, Kiev and went to live a new life in the Siberian hinterland.

April, of course, is not the best month for walking around the village, if you get off the road, you can get bogged down in mud.

But if you don't go into back alleys, and avoid puddles, the road is quite passable.

The main attraction of the village of Petropavlovsk is a carved wooden temple. They say that it is made without the use of nails.

The religious component has long gone by the wayside, the desire to live in an ecologically clean place and eat natural products came out in the first place. The order in the villages is maintained by the forces of the rural society itself, and I must say it is well maintained.

The villagers are going through hard times right now. Their spiritual leader was arrested several years ago, and the investigation is still ongoing. Previously, the village received the main profit from fulfilling orders for the assembly of exclusive wooden houses, now this enterprise practically does not work and most residents have to travel to work in shifts in other regions.
