A special gift
A hug to our dear #Greenzone community. This year I have received many material gifts; they weren't of high monetary value, but they were of great sentimental value. This recount is inspired by @neuropoeta in his Sunday dynamic.

But I will talk about a special gift that I've been using these days as a way to send good energy to the person who gave it to me: my friend Orlando Barrechis, a talented man (Aikido master, lawyer, visual artist) and, although he doesn't fully recognize it yet, a being with profound spiritual strength. This is why many people see him as a threat when in reality he is a balm.
This very charming mug, which I almost always look at from my shelf, is not just a simple decoration because it holds a story that I won't hesitate to tell you.
I met Barrechis in 1992,at a citrus camp over in Dos R铆os, an area very close to our dear @maylink. It was love at first sight; my best loves are like a gust of wind that leaves me breathless. Then the love fades, but I don't break the bond if there are no wounds from bad intentions.
We were about to enter the dining hall of Bungo 6. The eating areas in schools or workplaces in Cuba are never called restaurants, but comedores (dining halls). I was with some of my boisterous friends with whom I enjoyed university, and he was with his colleagues from the Military Institute.
I always said that whoever conceived that citrus campaign had a fertile mind because they brought together, in the same space for 15 days, the girls from the University and the boys from the Institute. We went by train to a certain point, and he says that from that moment he watched me, and I was reading poems and didn't notice his glances. Then he made possible the multiple attempts to approach me, which for me were just coincidences.
Well, we stood in line together to enter the dining hall, and we ended up at the same table. With my Samaritan soul, I removed the bones from his fish because I asked him why he wasn't eating it, and he said he couldn't see the bones well.
Barrechis is my friend, but he was my love; he is one of those people with whom I can talk about anything interesting. About our passions that were cut short a few days later in that camp and that we resumed 25 years later, I have a very long story to write.
This mug was one of his many thoughtful gifts he gave me; I lost some of them because I'm clumsy, among them a diorama that I loved. Today, Barrechis is out of communication due to the devastation of Hurricane Melissa, but I always think of him when the earth trembles, a cyclone passes, or a drum is played. Just to know how he's doing.
And since I believe that love, friendship, and the little things that unite us and make life sweeter, I added sugar to my coffee and with immense pleasure I share it with you.
