Saludos querida comunidad, feliz #needleworkmonday, hoy para mi es un día muy especial porque mi sobrina presentó su proyecto final para egresar como bachiller de la república, algo que me llena de orgullo y a la vez me conmueve mucho, pues aunque tengo sobrinos por parte de mis medios hermanos mayores, ella es hija de mi hermana @mayoly1 y por lo tanto la primera sobrina que estoy viendo desde su nacimiento porque en ese tiempo mi hermana convivía con nosotros por un tiempo antes de terminar de construir su casa, por eso mi sobrina ocupa un lugar muy especial en nuestras vidas por ser la primera bebe que tuvimos en casa y la primera nieta de mi mamá, ella ha crecido sana y muy aplicada en sus estudios, es muy linda e incluso me superó a mi en estatura, me gusta que se haya enfocado mucho en sus estudios para mantener un buen promedio y que hoy vea el fruto de ese esfuerzo, por eso desde hace unos días atrás les estuve preparando una muñeca ramo de rosas reversible con traje de graduación para dársela como sorpresa el día de hoy después de su presentación.

Greetings dear community, happy #needleworkmonday! Today is a very special day for me because my niece presented her final project to graduate from high school, something that fills me with pride and also deeply moves me. Although I have nephews and nieces through my older half-siblings, she is the daughter of my sister @mayoly1 and therefore the first niece I've seen since birth. At that time, my sister lived with us for a while before finishing building her house, so my niece holds a very special place in our lives as the first baby we had at home and my mother's first granddaughter. She has grown up healthy and very diligent in her studies. She is very sweet and even taller than me! I'm so glad she focused so much on her studies to maintain a good average and that today she sees the fruits of that effort. That's why, for the past few days, I've been preparing a reversible rose bouquet doll in a graduation dress to give to her as a surprise today after her presentation.

Hace tiempo atrás les compartí como fue mi experiencia haciendo una muñeca ramo, así que aunque pareciera no haber variación más allá de los colores, debo decir que en esta ocasión usé un hilo mas grueso y un ganchillo de 3.5mm, para anterior trabajé con ganchillo de 2.5mm, por lo tanto tuve que hacer reducciones a las medidas de mi propia patrón que había sacado a ojo, basándome en una regla de tres simple, en la mayoría de los casos aplica la multiplicación del número de hileras por los milímetros del ganchillo mas pequeño y el resultado lo dividí entre la medida del ganchillo mas grande, teniendo en promedio el numero de hileras que debía hacer, lo mismo hice cuando se trataba de la cantidad de puntadas, por lo tanto esta muñeca tiene menos puntadas y menos hileras que la anterior pero quedaron muy parecidas en tamaño, siendo esta un poco mas grande.

A while back I shared my experience making a bouquet doll, so even though it might seem like there's no variation beyond the colors, I should mention that this time I used a thicker yarn and a 3.5mm crochet hook. Previously, I used a 2.5mm hook, so I had to adjust the measurements of my own pattern, which I had estimated by eye using a simple rule of three. In most cases, you multiply the number of rows by the millimeters of the smaller crochet hook and divide the result by the size of the larger hook, giving you the average number of rows you should make. I did the same for the number of stitches. Therefore, this doll has fewer stitches and fewer rows than the previous one, but they are very similar in size, although this one is slightly larger.

Comencé primero por la cabeza, luego el cuerpo y para el soporte usé un tubo de pvc, a partir de la parte mas ancha del cuerpo levanté puntos altos para hacer la falda, mientras que con hilo rosado del lado del reverso levanté las puntadas a partir del soporte o tubo, luego uní ambas partes con puntadas tipo abanico del color de la falda azul. Esta vez hice un cabello con flequillo porque mi sobrina suele usarlo, aunque actualmente lo tiene un poco largo, también escogí un color de piel caramelo porque mi sobrina es morena y quería que la muñeca se pareciera a ella en medida de lo posible.

I started with the head, then the body, and for the stand I used a PVC pipe. Starting from the widest part of the body, I worked double crochet stitches to make the skirt, while with pink yarn on the reverse side, I worked stitches starting from the stand or pipe. Then I joined both parts with fan stitches in the same blue color as the skirt. This time I made bangs because my niece often wears them, although they're a bit long now. I also chose a caramel skin tone because my niece has dark skin and I wanted the doll to resemble her as much as possible.

El color favorito de mi sobrina es el rosado y por eso le hice las flores rosadas y el reverso de la falda de rosada en tono mas claro, cada rosa tiene 13 pétalos y usé 7 rosas, otro detalle que agregué al final fueron los lentes que hice en alambre galvanizado y luego los pinté de rosado porque también ella suele usar monturas de ese color desde que era pequeña y no ha cambiado su gusto 😊

My niece's favorite color is pink, so I made her pink flowers and the back of the skirt in a lighter shade of pink. Each rose has 13 petals, and I used 7 roses. Another detail I added at the end were the glasses, which I made from galvanized wire and then painted pink because she's also worn frames of that color since she was little, and her taste hasn't changed. 😊

Resultado / Result

A mi sobrina le fue muy bien en al defensa de su proyecto, obtuvo un 100/100 lo cual es un motivo para celebrar, a ella le gustó mucho la sorpresa y yo estoy feliz de poderle dar alegría y motivación para seguir adelante con sus estudios universitarios.

My niece did very well defending her project, she got 100/100 which is a reason to celebrate, she really liked the surprise and I am happy to be able to give her joy and motivation to continue with her university studies.
