St.Lucia; Caribbean.jpgSaint Lucia is an island country located in the Caribbean archipelago between Martinique and Barbados and has its capital in Castries. The population is 150,000 inhabitants. The official language of the island is English, but many locals speak kweyol, which has turned from a dialect of French into a true language with its own grammar. The fine beaches, the lush tropical forests, the two volcanic cones on the southeast coast of the island, the 795-meter-long Gros Piton and the 750-meter-long Petit Piton are the main points of interest in St. Lucia. The climate is tropical, the rainy season lasts from June to November, and the dry season from December to May.
