Wraithvine hates goodbyes, really hates them. But not all goodbyes are sad. This one, as ze left a wedding they had been invited to, was happy. They knew this family, they would meet them again. So it was not goodbye, it was "See you later." -- Anon Guest
Heroes tend to have open-air weddings in large fields, or take over an auditorium for the ceremony. Mostly because of all the people wanting to wish them well. There's other decorations to make it festive, as well as the celebrating guests, and generally a very understanding Cleric to bless the happy union.
Wraithvine had not only been invited, but also invited to be an Honour Guard for the Rogue, Luna Litefinger. She was officially making her union with two other adventuring teammates as they took their retirement in a much better place than where they all started.
Ze hadn't been tremendously instrumental to their adventures, more incidental, actually. But ze had been instrumental in their lives.
Luna, Rhyss, and Bol made it five steps out into the central area before their pace picked up and they began to race into each other's arms. Wraithvine, and the two other Honour Guards, had to trot to keep up. Which made it a good wedding before the Cleric could begin the traditional speech.
Wraithvine had seen Luna born. Helped with a few childhood illnesses and once rescued her from rescuing a friend stuck in a cave. Without hir intervention, ze would not be here now. In an ideal position to see how many other lives Luna's existence had changed for the better.
The seats were packed.
And the best part about the ceremony was that the Cleric was from the Church of Two Kind Hands. When he got to the part about asking Wraithvine to bless the union, the Eternal Wizard said, "I do."
Thank the other gods that everyone present had a matching sense of humour.
