"Ulove?" suggested Beau.
"I was trying," huffed Ali, "to flirt with the both of you. But if you have no intention of being cool about it..."
"Aw," sighed Cair. "I didn't mean it. I was trying to figure how it worked?" She was the word nerd who spent most of her life in other worlds. "I thought there was a new way of spelling it?"
Ali sighed, on the cusp of storming out. "And what about you?" she asked Beau.
"Oh, pure asshole energy. I'm sorry. I was doing a bit and the good old lead balloon did the thing. Do you want us to flirt to you or...?"
Ali said, "I love you two, but I'm also feeling a little bit punchy about the whole failed flirt thing?"
"Understood," said Cair. "Want I should hold the punching bag for you?"
This polycule was going to be the death of her. "That would be cool. Thanks." Ah, but what a way to go.
