Some of the history of the match factory translated from Finnish Wikipedia site. https://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/OTK:n_tulitikkutehdas

The match factory operated in 1926–1975 in the Särkänniemi district of Tampere. Cooperative trade OTK-owned match factory was built between 1925 and 1926. 70-80 employees worked at the factory on the shore of Lake Näsijärvi in the 1930s. The aspen used to make matches was brought to the factory's storage area by floating. The activity of the match factory in Särkänniemi ended in 1975, when the manufacture of matches was transferred to Vaajakoski.

In 1975, the ownership of the factory building of the match factory changed to Autotalo (car building) Pekka Mäkinen, owned by car dealer Pekka Mäkinen. (1925 - 2005) The site is owned by the City of Tampere, but Pekka Mäkinen had a lease agreement until 2025.

The former property of the match factory became the last office of Pekka Mäkinen in Autotalo, where cars and other equipment were transferred from other offices as the operations gradually ended. After the death of Mäkinen, the remaining cars in the area of Santalahti's property have gradually been either sold to industry enthusiasts or scrapped. The factory building is still there, but it has suffered from vandalism.

The factory will be repaired. Plans are for a daycare center and loft apartments. The repair work will begin in early 2020 and will be completed by the end of 2021.

So I promised more graffiti photos and photos of the match factory. Here they are! I managed to delete most, so only 25 photos were left. Photos taken this year are way down there. :)

It seems that for some odd reason, I have visited this place exactly at the same date but one year apart. The four photos above are from 23.8.2015 and the next 17 photos are from 23.8.2014. Now what are the odds of that! I swear, it didn't do it deliberately.

The last four are from this year. Perhaps I will go there again in 23.8.2019 to see what has happened inside the fences, if something has happened.
