Hi guys! I am Inotia King a youtuber, redditor and gamer who likes theorizing about the story. I actually cobbled together a list of some of my more important theories with respect to the game Genshin Impact and Star Rail that I have been basing all of my newer theories on. I'll be putting more of those up on Hive along with new stuff but if you're impatient I also archived all my theories here. I hope some of you guys are game theorists too. Let's try to figure out these great games together!
Actually you know, I have to really call this out first. I didn't see a single person pick this out. People were talking about how she's a fallen angel, how she's got the succubus wings, she's Elysia and she's old. Did none of that connect with how we already had an Elysia expy for this game?
Ramiel is the leader of the Falkenhayn Mercenary Troupe who protected Eridu with the first seven heroes. Failing that, she's either the girl's sister or the "Succubi Thirens" all look like Elysia. The only major difference between the Elysia we saw in the Where the Miracle Began trailer and this current Elysia now is that her wings are black instead of white. People already picked this out too about Nangong and rather than any connection at all being made between these two Elysias, I saw so many people suggesting she was Nangong's true form or that Nangong was also a fallen angel and the story was disappointing because Nangong didn't feature in it at all. She got a hotpot event.
Well here I am to make this connection. Ramiel is one of the heroes of Eridu just like Lady Sunbringer. They even live in the same place: Roscaelifer. So what does that mean?
Firstly we already know the fate of Sunbringer. She tried to help humanity. They turned on her. She's since disappeared. I had had a theory that she's the agent sent by the Imaginary Tree just like Phanes and the Cocoon of Finality respectively. The only difference is that she lost. The Sea of Quanta has almost full control over the Zenless universe and it's already put it on its last legs.
Ramiel is the name of an angel specifically a type of fallen angel called a Grigori. These were angels specifically targeted by the flood. Yes that flood, the flood that gave Teyvat its name. (Tevat Noah) God sealed the Grigori away. Now in terms of Zenless I've been saying that the Creator is in charge but even earlier (when Genshin was just getting the Chasm) I suggested that the Imaginary Tree and the Sea of Quanta are two sides of the same coin. They use the same playbook. We know when you anger Celestia it smites you and failing that it seals you. It makes sense the Creator might do the same to the heroes as well thus Ramiel and the other heroes along with their old world allies might have been sealed away. Ramiel though was one of the few to evade or escape and this is why we are seeing her now. Roscaelifer is their Celestia.
Side Note: Ramiel is actually Ra'am El in Hebrew and it means God Thunders. She could be an Electric Attribute Agent. I just hope she won't be another attacker so let's cross our fingers and hope she's either a Rupture Agent or the devs come up with yet another new Specialty for Season 3. I think everybody's on the same page that she'll be Season 3's Yixuan.
In addition to the idea that the sea acts the same way as the tree, we also know why the Grigori fell. This first reason other people had pointed out too. They procreated with humans and this resulted in the Nephilim, a race of destructive giants. However they also taught humanity "the forbidden knowledge" and Genshin players should know what that means. While the most prominent version is the Abyss, what forbidden knowledge actually is in Genshin is the pieces of information Phanes doesn't want known. The first we ever got was Enkanomiya because Phanes had sunk it under the sea to prevent its history from getting out. Even when the people were allowed back to the surface, it made Orobashi forbid them from bringing up their ancient past, learn Inazuman and even after that Orobashi itself needed to die. We can actually take both of these reasons into account for Zenless. Again if the sea behaves just like the tree then the Creator doesn't want its ancient feud against Sunbringer and the others to get out. So that's one part. However what did these heroes do for Eridu? Bangboo? Hollow Exploration? Ether tech? All of these things have helped humanity survive in a world littered with things meant to kill them. That sounds like "forbidden knowledge" to me. What if Ramiel's time freezing feathers are also some kind of advanced tech the heroes developed? As for procreating well we still don't know what the Thirens really are, do we? Yes they are citizens and yes New Eridu accepts them without any issue meaning that they've been around for some time. However we don't have an explanation as to what they are or how they came to be in a world that doesn't seem to have any other folkloric side. What if Sunbringer and these other agents of the tree created them? Maybe Thirens by default have greater Ether resistance thus all of them can explore the Hollows whereas many humans don't have this resistance as we've already seen. In other words both the technology and techniques taught to Eridu's people and whatever genetic splicing was performed that created Thirens have helped keep the Zenless universe alive. (It might also be worthy to note that the two heroes who we know are tied to Roscaelifer are also Thirens. Sunbringer has dragon horns and now here's Ramiel with her succubus wings.)
Finally there's one more much more fringe detail that I want to present. Last year over in Genshin, Enjou made an appearance. I came up with a theory about his names and especially Kokuchuu applies here. The short version is that Kokuchuu means "in the middle of the valley" and I think it represents Enjou having been taken to the void beyond time. Do you guys know where the Grigori were sealed after the flood? In the "valleys of the Earth." Curious right? What if it's similar and so that's where we'll discover Roscaelifer to be which also explains why Ramiel hasn't aged since her battles with the seven heroes. (among other things it could be an excuse to prevent us from reaching it in Season 3 since my theory about that is we'll be delving deeper into the history rather than expanding to new regions)
It is far too early to make any real conclusions about this but I think the connection between Ramiel and the leader of the Falkenhayn Mercenary Troupe is solid. Her fall is potentially what stained her white wings black. It would also connect to how we've been getting more mentions about these old heroes. Previously we already got Lady Sunbringer and Leader Joyous. Ramiel's arrival alongside her connection to Roscaelifer seems fitting. I also think Roscaelifer being a floating island in the sky works perfectly with Celestia thus the connection there fits as well.
However there's still a Part B to this Epilogue and my track record with predicting what the Zenless devs do with the story has not been as stellar as my Genshin and Star Rail ones. We'll have to see what the Zenless devs come up with.
