Am currently experiencing what peace really is.
When someone says they want peace, you might not really understand what they mean. You might think they are just talking about living a quiet life or avoiding trouble. You might even wonder why somebody would put peace above money when money can solve so many problems. Honestly, I used to think
about things like this, too.
When you find yourself in a place where your mind cannot rest, where you wake up with worries and go to bed with the same worries, you begin to understand that peace is not something to take for granted.
There are times when you can have money in your pocket and still feel empty inside. You can have people around you and still feel lonely. You can smile with everybody during the day and return to your room at night with a heavy heart. Nobody may notice anything wrong with you because, from the outside, everything seems fine. But deep down, you know that something is missing.
That is one thing about life. Not everything that makes you look successful will make you feel fulfilled.
We live in a world where people are constantly trying to get ahead. Someone buys a new car, and another person starts thinking about how to buy a better one. Someone builds a house, and another person feels like they are falling behind because they are still renting. Even when we achieve something we once prayed for, we sometimes spend very little time enjoying it before we start looking for the next thing.
It becomes a never-ending race.
And the funny thing is that nobody really tells us when we have done enough. There is always somebody doing better than us in one way or another. If you use other people's lives to measure your own progress, you may never feel satisfied with what you have. You will keep running, even when you are tired, because you are afraid that slowing down means you are failing.
But what if you reach everything you have been chasing and still cannot find happiness? What if you have the money, the house, the clothes, and the recognition, but you cannot sit alone for ten minutes without feeling troubled by your own thoughts?
What would all those things mean then?
I am not saying money is not important. It is. Money can put food on the table, provide shelter, pay school fees, and give you access to things that make life easier. Poverty comes with its own worries, and nobody should have to pretend that money does not matter.
It is certain that one can not granttee the other.
You can be working hard to build a better future while still taking care of the person you are becoming along the way. You can want more from life without allowing the desire for more to destroy the little happiness you already have.
Oh that feelings of waking up in the morning and feeling okay with your life, even when everything is not exactly where you want it to be.
as receiving good news, eating your favourite food, or spending time with someone you
You know you are doing something that makes you proud of yourself. You are growing, learning, and becoming a person you can respect. You are not living every day just to impress people who may not even care about your struggles.
You can be grateful for where you are and still work towards where you want to be. You can appreciate what you have without giving up on your dreams. Most importantly, you can chase success without sacrificing your peace of mind in the process.
