Little research with gecko - morph ascertaining, and a video inside!:)

With this post I finish my weekend lizard research:)

As I said in previous one Jar-Jar successfully molted today, so we finally were able to see her original morph. It the zoo market I was told that it's a classic leopard gecko of Normal morph, but surprise-surprise, they were 100% wrong (as wrong they were with conditions for her).

Jar-Jar has yellow body, 15% of her tail (or even a bit more) is yellow as well, and she has no dark spots on her skin. The rest on her tail has lots of dark spots. These are characteristics of Super Hypo Tangerine morph. 

In fact I wished to have exactly this morph from the very beginning (or close to it). But I couldn't find it anywhere, so I had to agree that I'll buy the Normal morph. Surprise! I have a new year tangerine, my wish came true.

Remember I said that she had wrong conditions in the zoo market? Yep, unfortunately... Most of reptiles need a wet place (wet camera) to molt successfully. If their skin is too dry molting can be difficult, and they can loose small body parts, such as fingers. And this is what happened to Jar-Jar, she lost some parts of her tiny fingers before she got to me. Of course I will not love her less because of it. Seems like poor thing never had a wet camera before.
