Dinosaur Provincial Park in Alberta was our first big stop after moving into the van, and it was a bit of a last minute decision (if you follow us you will begin to notice a bit of a trend with our travel decisions as I continue to post more). Dinosaur Provincial Park has always been on our list of places to visit but since our original travel plans have been changed due to COVID there is now no fixed travel schedule. We're kind of just driving and seeing where we end up.
We spent four nights in Dinosaur Provincial Park. We arrived mid-weekend on the Thanksgiving long weekend, every site was taken until Monday when everyone left. We ended up being one of about five campers in the 120+ campground.
We participated in guided tours, explored on our own and visited the small museum they have onsite. We learnt so much about our prehistoric past and had so much fun, not to mention we also found so many fossils!
After our four nights in Dinosaur Provincial Park we spent three nights in Drumheller and also visited the Royal Tyrrell Museum. The Royal Tyrrell Museum was something else! It was incredible and so interesting for all ages!
In the beginning Ryan was nowhere near as excited as I was to visit all of these places, but in the end I think he enjoyed it a lot more than he was expecting. He definitely had a good time photographing the hoodoos and other unique landscapes.
