I'd suggest that "Now the little man is broken" is not how we would translate "Nun ist der kleine Mann ganz schön kaputt"

We'd say "Now the little man has crashed" or "zonked" or maybe "is dead on his feet" if we're looking for that kind of disturbing imagery that goes with idioms so often.
