[TV] Serie: Imperfect Women

There are stories that hook you with their title; the synopsis seems appealing, and you think, “This looks good,” but when you start watching it, it’s not what you imagined. Even so, it’s still intriguing, and as you keep watching, you need to know how it ends.

That's what we'll see in this series—the story of three friends. The plot is completely different from what I imagined, although the title fits well: three imperfect women, each with a past that has shaped her present.

Hay historias que te atrapan por el título, la sinopsis parece ser atractiva, y piensas: "Esto se ve bueno", pero cuando empiezas a verlo, no es lo que te imaginabas. Aun así, no deja de ser intrigante, y a medida que continúas viendo, necesitas saber cómo termina.

In the wake of a crime, the lives of these three friends are shattered, and their long-standing friendship is strained, entangled in lies, secrets, guilt, and betrayal. As the story unfolds, we’ll see how this friendship transforms and that even enduring relationships don’t always last forever.

This is an 8-episode miniseries in which these women had maintained a long-standing friendship; however, everything changed when their darkest secrets—filled with lies and betrayals—began to come to light. The plot starts off a bit slow; at first, you feel like it’s not worth it, but, as I said, as it progresses, it keeps you hooked with each new development and the way each character is introduced, revealing the backstories of these three women’s lives.

The plot reflects each woman’s story from her own perspective, allowing us to understand, to some extent, the reasons behind their present circumstances; this makes the series a bit more interesting.

Three completely different women—Elisabeth Moss (Mary), Kerry Washington (Eleanor), and Kate Mara (Nancy)—with pasts full of emotional turmoil, intense scenes, and drama; this series reflects the value of friendship and how it gets lost along the way, amid so many secrets, mistrust, and even envy or guilt, all stemming from a desire to appear to be something they’re not.

As I mentioned, this series has so much more to offer; it’s not just about friendship, and it’s not a masterpiece—as I always say about these kinds of stories—but the plot is undoubtedly gripping and compelling, featuring a strained friendship, secrets, intrigue, and a crime to be solved to top it all off.
