Last year, as a penultimate year student of Industrial Mathematics at the prestigious University of Benin Nigeria, i was to undertake 6months period of industrial training in a company in order to apply most of the mathematical theories i learnt in school to real life .
when i was doing my 6months industrial training, because i was an Industrial mathematics student they company put me in charge of data analysis for me to figure out where the loss in some of the departments came from.
So on my first analysis, i analysed and solved my data using advanced excel sheet , the following day after i submitted my report, i was called into the office of the secretary of the company, this really scared me because i thought that i make a mistake will analyzing my data, but on getting to his office, he told me that he was really impressed about my work and would want to retain my service after graduation.
Although i told him i couldn't really accept the offer at the moment because the future can really change for me, he accepted and increased my salary, so i went ahead and finished my industrial training as the Data Analyst for the company, which was the first time an industrial trainee has been in charge of a very important position and i also became the first industrial trainee who earned more in terms of salary than other trainees in the company
So from the fear of almost being fired to a big promotion was a great experience for me.
