Somehow, the light rain last night brought us a chilly Friday. So what else would we do with such weather? We give ourselves a lazy day, lol! We have had many such days, especially these recent months, but we are not complaining. We are just thankful that we don't have to answer to a boss.

It reminded me of the time when I was still working, and it was tough for me to get up in the morning during the cold months. Fortunately, my boss was flexible, so I would arrange to work at the apartment on most days and only report to the office when my physical presence was needed. It got a little more challenging when my job included traveling from one city to another. I disliked walking outside when my toes and fingers couldn't feel a thing. Being wrapped in layered or thick clothing was my least favorite. It feels heavy!

I also didn't like the elevator or train rides filled with people who seemed to have eaten a bagful of chili (they are fond of eating spicy food in winter to keep themselves warm) and haven't taken a bath for weeks or even brushed their teeth. Nah, I am not trying to criticize or humiliate anyone, but these were real encounters and experiences during my 9 to 5 stint in China. Blame the cold weather for taking these out from my memory bank, haha!

Joke aside, today wasn't all lazing around as we were planning for a simple celebration tomorrow. It's my late mom-in-law's birthday, and we thought we would prepare some food here and then drive to my father-in-law's place for a wee commemoration.

We would then drive to the city after lunchtime for some errands, and also, my nephew (elder sister's son) will be performing at the mall on Sunday, and we would like to be there. Quite a busy weekend ahead, but it will be fun!
