Magandang buhay馃挍

We were out and about on Monday, first to Dad's in BC. It's been two weeks since we last visited him. We helped him organize and check inventory for his mini mart while listening to his endless stories, had more chitchat over lunch and even after; it was hard to leave, lol! It's fascinating how he always has something new to share whenever we go home. And it's nice that he enjoys his new pastime鈥攃atering to his customers and having everyday conversations with them.

We left around 3 pm as we still needed to drop off some stuff at the other farms, then check on my FIL too. The two old men in our family have the same personalities鈥擠ad and Papa are both chatty, so sometimes we call them tsismoso, haha!

Anyway, we didn't stay long at my FIL's place as he was busy watching reels by the window.馃榿 But before we left, I took the top shot and the photo below of the usual spot. I love the reflections of the tall trees in the windshield.

After crossing the town border, we stopped by our newly discovered grocery store for supplies, then we headed to the junk site for free, safer truck parking (LOL). We took the shortcut to where we left our car in the morning. We didn't know one existed until an uncle showed it to the hubby earlier.

"Is the pathway clean?" I asked. "Yes. We will pass through a short bridge," he said and quickly went ahead before I said anything.

He walked really fast, and well, the obedient wife followed his lead. She eventually slowed down, fascinated by the thriving bell peppers in tunneled greenhouses along the way, until this sight made her stop.

When the hubby said "short bridge," the image that came to mind was similar to the concrete footbridge we walked on in the morning. He didn't say it was a suspension bridge! If I hadn't noticed the auntie working in the field behind me, I would have screamed馃ぃ

To distract myself from fear, I shifted my attention to the rocky riverbed and watched the water flowing through the rocks. What a relaxing sight. I snapped these shots, secured the phone in my bag, and then took my first step. Meanwhile, Yongi was quiet in his backpack.

I didn't know how long it took me to cross that bridge, but I was relieved when I finally got my feet off it. It's funny how I always say I had overcome my fear (of heights), yet it quickly surfaces whenever a situation calls for it. Darn!

The hubby? He was way far ahead!

But yeah, I guess there won't be a second time for that shortcut. I'll be more than happy to take the longer route between our two rides until the road reopens.
