Today I have the pleasure of inviting you to discover one of the most beautiful spots in Cuban geography, called 'El Nicho,' with its attractive pools of crystal-clear waters. In this third part of the tour, I will show you the Lovers' Pool, with transparent, blue-green waters, the Crystal Pool, and the Hanabanilla viewpoint in the most mountainous areas of Manicaragua.

Hoy tengo el placer de invitarlos a conocer uno de los parajes más bellos de la geografía Cubana, llamado 'El Nicho', con sus atractivas pocetas de aguas cristalinas. En esta tercera parte del recorrido les mostraré la poceta de los enamorados, con aguas transparente, azul verdosa, la poceta de cristal y el mirador del Hanabanilla en las zonas más montañosas de Manicaragua.

One of the first surprises of the tour was this old tree, which caught my attention because of the shape of its roots and its architecture as it grew, very original.
This harmonious combination with nature has created a paradisiacal space in El Nicho. Next, the Lovers' Pool was my favorite, spectacular, not to mention that its water is super cold; you would take a dip and after 10 minutes you had to get out because of how freezing it was.
Una de las primeras sorpresas del recorrido fue este viejo árbol, que captó mi atención por su forma en las raíces y arquitectura al crecer, muy original.
Esta armoniosa conjugación con la naturaleza ha creado un espacio paradisíaco en El Nicho. A continuación, la Poceta de los Enamorados, fue mi favorita, espectacular, sin mencionar que su agua es súper fría; pues te bañabas y a los 10 minutos tenías que salir de tanta frialdad.
The pool is guarded by smooth stones, shaped by the constant flow of water; they don't slip, people could dive in, and it can be fully admired from a small bridge that crosses over the river. According to local legend, if two lovers bathe together in it, they will remain united for their entire lives.
Mostly the couples and people who arrived were there to take photographs of the beauty of the place, and the blue-green waters are the most natural thing I have ever appreciated in my country.
La poceta está custodiada por piedras lisas, moldeadas por el constante flujo del agua, no resbalan, se podían tirar las personas y se puede admirar por completo desde un pequeño puente que cruza por encima del río. Según la leyenda local, si dos enamorados se bañan juntos en ella, permanecerán unidos durante toda la vida.
Mayormente las parejas y personas que llegaban era para tomar fotografías de la belleza del lugar, y las aguas azules-verdes, es lo más natural que he apreciado en mi país.
Everywhere you looked along the trails, there were streams and waterfalls, as well as people enjoying the nature of the park.
These multiple waterfalls and natural pools form the dream landscape for any traveler, since even those who live nearby are amazed every time they have the pleasure of visiting it or simply spending day after day there, to see the wonders of their town.
Donde quiera que mirabas por los senderos, habían riachuelos y cascadas, además del personal disfrutando de la naturaleza del parque.
Estas múltiples caídas de agua y las piscinas naturales, forman el paisaje soñado para cualquier viajero, pues hasta los que viven cerca se asombran cada vez que tienen el placer de visitarlo o simplemente pasar día tras día, para ver las maravillas de su pueblo.
Leaving the first pool, we went up some rustic stairs among trees until we reached the Hanabanilla Viewpoint. These paths are a bit tiring due to the long journey at a high altitude; I'll tell you that many didn't go up for fear of physical exhaustion, mostly the older ones on the excursion.
You could also see mushrooms, dozens of endemic birds, and exotic plants of great heritage value.
Saliendo de la primera poceta, subimos por unas escaleras rústicas entre árboles hasta llegar al Mirador Hanabanilla. Estos caminos resultan un poco cansados por la extensa travesía en altura; te comentaré que muchos no subían por miedo al agotamiento físico, mayormente los más adultos de la excursión.
Se apreciaban también hongos, decenas de aves endémicas, y plantas exóticas de gran valor patrimonial.

There are few places in the world where peace and the contemplation of nature blend in such beautiful ways as in El Nicho, a tour in which every step will take you from one impressive place to another. It will be an unforgettable day as a family, as a couple, or simply if you are one of those solo travelers who enjoy every detail to perfection.

Hay pocos lugares en el mundo donde la paz y la contemplación de la naturaleza se mezclan de maneras tan hermosas como en El Nicho, un recorrido en el que cada paso te llevará de un lugar impresionante a otro. Será un día inolvidable en familia, en pareja o simplemente si eres de los viajeros solistas que disfrutan cada detalle a la perfección.
The viewpoint, in addition to the beautiful views, has its rest area, which allows you to contemplate an entire green world at your feet. From this spot it is possible to see the Hanabanilla Waterfall, its mountains, lakes, and vegetation in general.
The magnificent natural environment it shelters constitutes a perfect panorama for the hiker, with contrasts that many people in the world want to enjoy.
El mirador, además de las hermosas vistas, contiene su área de descanso, que permite contemplar todo un mundo verde a sus pies. Desde este sitio es posible ver el Salto de Hanabanilla, sus montañas, lagos y vegetación en general.
El magnífico entorno natural que acoge, constituye un panorama perfecto para el senderista, con contrastes que muchas personas en el mundo quieren disfrutar.
This nature reserve is a protected area, which means that its wildlife remains intact and, because of this, it becomes an ideal place to appreciate the local wildlife. The area is also the home of Cuba's national bird: the Tocororo, a majestic bird that displays the colors of the Island's flag and is, without a doubt, of an enigmatic beauty.
I left you a panoramic view of the Hanabanilla Viewpoint and its natural surroundings.
Esta reserva natural es un área protegida, lo que significa que su fauna se mantiene intacta y, por esto, se convierte en un sitio ideal para apreciar la vida silvestre local. La zona es, además, la casa del ave nacional de Cuba: El Tocororo, una majestuosa ave que ostenta los colores de la bandera de la Isla y que resulta, sin duda alguna, de una belleza enigmática.

We arrived at the Crystal Pool which, just as its name indicates, is a mirror of translucent water, surrounded by small waterfalls.
This natural pool was not one of my favorites, not because it wasn't beautiful, but because there were too many people, it was hard to find a spot, and I like to be calm in an environment with less noise or crowds.
Llegamos a la Poceta de Cristal que, tal como lo indica su nombre, constituye un espejo de agua traslúcida, rodeada de pequeñas cascadas.
Esta piscina natural, no fue de mis favoritas, no porque no fuera bella, sino porque había demasiadas personas, era difícil ubicarse y me gusta estar tranquilo en un ambiente de menos bullicio o multitud.

Para concluir esta tercera parte del recorrido por el parque, les comentaré que se viene un último post con la belleza fundamental. Esperen los próximos días y conocerán la cascada de los Desparramaderos, una de las más grandes y famosas de Cuba, y podrán disfrutar de un rico almuerzo campesino.
Este oasis fresco y bañado por el agua cristalina, mantiene la riqueza de su biodiversidad, y brinda al mundo su belleza sin la preocupación de que su entorno pueda deteriorarse.
