Loneliness has been part of me since I left my home, my refuge, the place where I felt very protected and heard, I knew that when I stepped on new lands a tumultuous and very fascinating path would be sent to me. My parents raised me as a home girl, where I had to ask permission to go out with a maximum arrival time, that is, I never had that freedom of American teenagers, where they could do what they wanted and without fear of what their parents could say. I only knew that I was going to be alone in a state very far from my home, I didn't know anyone and no one knew me, I was somewhat defenseless because I felt that the world was very big for me, I didn't want to feel intimidated, but everything was unknown and I didn't know where to start. The University was a strange environment, something chaotic because many people came from other states and I, I couldn't feel special because I know we were all going through the same thing. Feeling alone has been a very difficult process and at the same time it has left me with many lessons that I might never have experienced if I hadn't left. If I say it with total sincerity, I have made mistakes since my loneliness, one of them is to depend on people who I thought would be with me for the rest of my life, when I had to accept that these people come and go.
Click here for the English version I lived in different places, I started in a family house with a girl and her grandmother, I really empathized with them and they made me feel at home, but then things changed and more and more emotions were mixed, that they judged me and at the same time helped me was like a toxic relationship and I didn't feel comfortable with what I was living. Then, what I never thought happened, to separate from them and continue in a new environment, a new home for me alone, an annex with nothing, I had to start from 0 again. Starting from 0 was a challenge, but I always had the help of my parents and when I met what was my partner, who always helped me in my process with loneliness, it was what reconformed me, I was alone physically but emotionally I would never be and there I understood that I was maturing in my own way. I never felt alone when I was with him, they were the best years where I shared with a person who was totally different from me, with a new upbringing and a unique way of seeing things to my senses. Then he left and this time, I met the true loneliness, the one you have to face no matter what, live alone, eat alone, breathe alone. It was a weak moment for my person to spend so many months without any person by my side, I didn't believe I was able to go out and not have that feeling of company ... Seriously, it ate me, nobody was waiting for me in the apartment, nobody could help me with the food, nobody told me good night when I went to sleep, I felt physically abandoned and it's complicated to describe.
Click here for the English version I can express that there are many words to describe what I lived during those months, abandonment, loneliness, peace and satisfaction. A very strange experience, something that every human being must experience to continue growing as a person. I think that when we are family people, people who like to talk and live with people, it can be more difficult than it is read, for others they usually cope very well for different factors that they have lived in their childhood or adolescence. For me, loneliness is not easy to cope with because then you lock yourself in your thoughts, you start to feel that your world becomes smaller and more confusing, you get feelings that nobody wants you, that nobody is going to help you, that you are far away and they appreciate it, are ideas that make you feel overwhelmed and very sad because you lock yourself up a lot, you become lonely and you are not looking for a way to find yourself as an individual again. The only way to free yourself from those thoughts is to do something you like, an activity like going to the gym, dancing, writing, painting or anything you want for your entertainment and stop thinking so much, because that is what has most bothered me, overthinking is a double-edged sword and mostly in my case, I end up losing. Doing a hobby is the healthiest thing for a person who lives alone, you have all the time to start doing it and seriously guys, when I say it is necessary it is SUPER NECESSARY, the mind is occupied and you only want to finish it to go to bed, but when you have several activities you forget that you are alone, what I have also been doing is meeting people, starting conversations with my University classmates and trying to get out of my 4-walled room more. I have always wanted to become my best version and now that I am alone, I must work every day to achieve that part of me, what I try is to keep my values intact and listen to a lot of self-help podcasts because yes, sometimes I fall and I become the old version, but I believe firmly that it is my process of transformation to that girl that everyone wants to see, better said, that I WANT to see. And this was my experience of living alone, How can I program my life living alone? I will tell you that in the next post, Thank you very much!
