important, I'd say. For some, it's the first day back at work after the long break. I got another day, as mine won't start till tomorrow. Nonetheless, I spent it working on sorting out some obligations. And yes, I want the year to start right. Who doesn't?
There's a superstition to have a basket of fruits to start out the New Year. Some go out of their way to spend much in purchasing fruits. Although I'm not a very superstitious person, I suppose there's nothing wrong with having a few bunch of fruits. After all, they are quite good for our health. We just didn't go overboard, as I believe that consuming these fruits are just as important as having them on display.

PS. All these fruits have now been fully consumed.
