Since we were at Berjaya Times Square Mall and extremely nearby one roadside restaurant which we had not been for quite some time, my husband and I decided to walk out of the mall, to cross road to this restaurant.
馃搷Location: Changkat Thambi Dollah, Imbi, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.
This place existed for many years already, since my college time some 25 years ago, and God knows since when they started the business. It is still at a road side, under a tree, and not properly do up. But still super crowded.
This is the kitchen section where stackable of steamer containers of all the variety of soup in the process of steaming.
The menu is still the same since that time. Old style but full of deliciousness.
It was our early dinner at 6pm, so we were not that hungry, so we ordered a few. Each type came with a standard size of small plate. If you needed more, you could order more plates.
My husband loved wild boar curry, as for me, I really depend on the 'quality' of the catch. So happen for this one, the wild boar taste was so strong to the extend I felt like tasted some uric acid, so I couldn't eat this plate. But the curry itself was so delicious.
My husband also loved this and it is very difficult to find this dish somewhere else. So he must order. I skipped this, because just at the thought of it, I almost became nauseous. Husband forced me to try one mouthful, the meat was nice, in between chicken and fish meat, but because I was not adventurous at eating extraordinary food, so my body wanted to puke.
This one was my first and foremost choice. So I ordered this for sharing, although my husband ate just one mouthful, considering I already couldn't eat the pork curry and braised terrapin. This braised pork belly was super yummy, so soft and the preserved vegetables were a good combo to it. Taste like home, because my Mum cooked this for special occasion.
This soup was another level, so full of herbs, I think there was ginseng inside. With some other herbs as well like Chinese yam, yuzhu and Dang-guai. Very refreshing to drink, and super nutritious to the body.
This was so so so so refreshing due to our hot weather recently. I almost ordered the second bottle but I did not. Love the natural sweetness from sugar cane. Yums!
