Suddenly, she was shouting in horror, followed by jumping out of her chair, and then turned the table over. All the food crashed to the floor.
It was a cat under the table, meowing and walked gracefully under her legs. And then paused right beside her, gazing at her with its adorable face.
We all couldn't help but to laugh while also showing some sympathy to our friend.
Everyone responds to a cat's meow differently. While some take it as a soothing voice, causing one to give love and attention to the cat, a cat's meow may send another person to cold shivers.
I have so many friends who really adore cats to the extend of taking care 3 to 5 cats just like taking care of their own children. They even adopted stray cats they found on the street, nursing the cats back to health and total beauty.
But, to my this one friend, cat is like a horror movie to her. A cat's meows literally caused her to shiver and somehow paralysed after the screaming and jumping. When a cat's fur touched her, she freezed. Immovable. Sound absurd but it was true.
The first time when I met her and got to know her, I thought she was acting to gain attention because it looked exaggerated. But after loknowing her, I could not help but to render kindness and understanding to her.
The story behind was a solid backup to why she was in fear of cats. My friend loved chicks since young. And one day, she saw a cat fighting with a chick and the cat bit it to death. Not only that, while the chick was still struggling to live, the cat literally bit the chick's neck so hard and brutally till the head was separated from its body. Dead. She cried. She was just a four year old who didn't what to do. She shivered throughout the whole scene at the window, looking out to their backyard. The cat was enjoying eating the chick's head.
Later on, when she told the story to her parents, no one believed her and said she was hallucinating or imagining. She was so exasperated. But, it was real. Some cousins even made fun of her, saying she was crazy. That cat only ate mouse, not chicks. No one believed her till she met me.
I believe in her story. I emphatized her and hopefully one day she would overcome her fear.
