• Prismologist is an epic card from the life splinter which main purpose is offense dealing heavy damage in the frontline.

• Looking at the basic stats of Prismologist, they are a slow monsters which have a constant of 2 speed, a very powerful range damage and a decent amount of health for a range unit.

• The blast ability plays an important role for Prismologist as the heavy attack damage spread to the adjacent allies.

• Since Prismologist is a range unit with high damage, this card is usually place in the last position which is why the Forcefield is a very suitable ability as well for a high damage sneak attack such as attack from Sandworm.

• The final ability which is silence further enhance Prismologist to disable magic units. Very compatible with Grandmaster Rathe and some frontline such as Pelacor Conjurer and Blinding Reflector which are against magic damage.

Combo Cards

In terms of summoners, General Sloan is the best summoner currently in the life element which can further boost the damage deal by Prismologist while Grandmaster Rathe will focus more on the defensive but gives additional protection against magic which can improved by Prismologist silence ability.

Quix the Devious, Ilthain, Mimosa Nightshade and Contessa L'ament are those summoners that greatly affect Prismologist attack.

General Sloan	With the additional range damage, Prismologist range attack becomes deadlier than ever including the blast damage. The only way to reduce the damage from Prismologist is by having a forcefield in the frontline which only few monsters have it in the Silver league.

In terms of monsters, Prismologist as a range unit does needs a good tank in the frontline. There are some monsters with the headwind ability from the Riftwatchers can reduce Prismologist range attack.

Ash Mirage	Ash Mirage is a great range unit but it will affect Prismologist performance due to the headwinds ability it possess. It can decrease the attack of Prismologist.
Runemancer Atuat	Runemancer Atuat is one of the legendary card in riftwatcher that can affect range damage of range unit monsters including Prismologist. This card is use as well in the reverse speed which may be encountered frequently by Prismologist due to both of them have low speed.
Queen of Crows	Another Riftwatcher card with the headwind ability and can even attack in the frontline. Dealing with this card with Mimosa Nightshade or Contessa L'ament as the summoner will really weaken Prismologist range attack.

Favorable Ruleset

There are quite a specific ruleset that is most likely Prismologist would appear.

Aim True	Prismologist with a low speed but a high damage would greatly enjoy the Aim True ruleset as it won't miss any high speed monsters or even flying monsters which will fully utilize Prismologist powerful range attack.
Close Range	With the close range ruleset, Prismologist have the ability to attack from the frontline fully utilizing their powerful damage.
Keep Your Distance	In this ruleset, Prismologist is a very powerful card which gives a great damage. Without any melee, the blast attack would surely heavily damage range and magic monsters with low health.
Reverse Speed	Prismologist is one of the range monsters with low speed. In reverse speed, this card becomes more powerful as this card have a high chance to attack first as well hit most of the target.
Unprotected	Given that Prismologist attack is very powerful, a monster without any armor would be devastated once the attack from Prismologist hit. Without any armor protection, all damage from Prismologist deals a great damage in the health or can even do a 1 hit to other low health monsters.

Below ruleset may not be suitable for Prismologist

• Armored Up - no matter how strong physical attack is, as long as there is no piercing, an armor will be the first one you need to deal with.
• Fire and Regret - A strong range attack but will return back the damage would really hurt Prismologist.

Modifications: Back to Basic, Reverse Speed
Mana Cap: 48
Playable Splinters: Fire, Water, and Life

This battle is a pretty straight forward battle due to the back to basics. With the reverse speed ruleset, Water splinter is out of my choices in this match. However I don't see a lot of range or magic monsters from Fire with slow speed which is why I have chosen Life splinter in this battle.

• Summoner: Since the ruleset have the back to basic, I use Grandmaster Rathe assuming that my opponent will use a lot of magic and with Rathe, the armor can withstand the magic attack.
• 1st Position: A very unusual frontline which is Jared Scar but because of its high melee damage and low speed, this monster might deal a great damage in the frontline.
• 2nd Position: Runemancer Atuat serves both as a secondary tank as well as a magic damager with the low speed.
• 3rd Position: Spirit Hoarder is the last choice for this match to fill-up the remaining mana. With its low speed and magic damage, Hoarder provides additional damage in the frontline.
• 4th Position: Adelade Brightwing is another magic damager with a low speed.
• 5th Position: Rune Crafter is one of the heavy range damager but with a higher speed.
• 6th Position: Prismologist is in the last position as this card deals a 3 range attack and the speed of this card is very suitable with the reverse speed ruleset. This card gives a lot of damage in the battle.

Let's do the battle analysis per round:

Round 1

Analyzing the opponent's line up, even though that the reverse ruleset is in place, the opponent still choose Kelya and magic units in which Grandmaster Rathe becomes very useful utilizing the void armor of every units.

In the first round, given the reverse speed ruleset, magic units ignores Diemonshark armor, and the range monsters will do the final blow before Diemonshark could land its attack.

On the other hand with the total damage of 9 from magic and range unit, Jared Scard has been defeated.

Round 2

The round 2 starts with a faceoff between Oshannus and Runemancer Atuat. Both are magic units with high health but with the ruleset and summoner buffs, Atuat have the advantage. All monster will attack these two and will see who is the durable in the current battle.

Round 3

Both monsters was able to survive the Round 2 however, it won't be long before both of them are going to get defeated. Adelade defeated Oshannus while the combined attack of the remaining forces almost defeated Ghost. River Hellondale defeated Runemancer Atuat.

Round 4

Another attack from Adelade defeated Ghost while Kulu Swimhunter absorbs the remaining of the attack. Hoarder is heavily wounded at the end of the round.

Round 5

Another enemy defeated in the hands of Adelade. Prismologist heavy attack is being neglected because of armored units, good thing that Rune Crafter can do follow up attack after Prismologist defeating the Venari Wavesmith. Hoarder was defeated by Hellondale.

Round 6

Adelade attack first damaging Hellondale. Prismologist should be able to launch the final blow however because of the armor, the powerful attack destroyed the armor. The follow up attack from Rune Crafter

💎 Final Thoughts

Prismologist is a very powerful range unit dealing heavy damage in the frontline. The only cons this card have is that it is slow which is why this card is best to use in reverse speed ruleset. Another thing which was shown in the battle is that no matter how powerful the range attack is, as long as there is still armor, it will still destroy first the armor. In this case the unprotected ruleset is very suitable to Prismologist to fully utilize the damage it can provide.

In conclusion, Prismologist is a good card but won't be always applicable in the battle as this card have some condition on when to use. This card is great in high mana match up as it cost 8 mana.
