Hello Splinterlands Community!

Welcome to the new segment of Splinterlands weekly challenge! This is the first ever Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge!

In this post, I will be discussing about the Aim True ruleset which eliminates misses on the attack.

For those who are new to my post, I usually post information about Silver and Gold Modern league as I usually play within these league, being a beginner in the gold league.

🎯 Ruleset: Aim True

Card
Description

Aim True

Attacks always hit their target.

With the Aim True ruleset, 100% success that a monster will hit their target which means any abilities related to accuracy are being neglected.

Here are the abilities that is being neglected when it comes to this ruleset:

  • Blind - reduced attack accuracy by 15%
  • Dodge - reduced attack accuracy by 25%
  • Flying - reduced attack accuracy by 25% if the attack player does not have flying ability.
  • Phase - able to reduce magic attack accuracy based on speed reduction calculation including abilities above
  • Backfire - the attacker takes 2 damage if the attack misses.

Furthermore, the speed differential in terms of attack accuracy is being neglected as well. If you don't know how this is calculated, per speed difference there is a 10% accuracy reduction.

Consideration

With the Aim True ruleset in-play, here are my consideration in choosing the monsters:

  1. A durable and tough monster with high damage output regardless of the speed
  2. A backline monster with high damage output regardless of the speed
  3. A monster with a bloodlust ability

🎯 Cards

Suggested Cards

In my opinion, those monster having high damage and with high health could be a good choice in this battle.

Below are my top choice of monsters for the Aim True ruleset.

Card
Opinion
Grum Flameblade
Grum Flameblade is a low speed monster with a high melee damage and a bloodlust ability. This monster is great in Aim True as this card can deal pretty decent damage in the frontline.
Forgotten One
Forgotten One is another powerful monster with slow speed but with a high output damage. The retalliate further boost this card attack. This card will be useless if the attack of this card won't hit an enemy.
Mycelic Infantry
Mycelic Infantry is a pretty good monster with a tough defense. The only problem with this card is that this card has a very slow speed wherein an attack to flying units or high speed monster could easily avoid Mycelic Infantry. With the Aim True, this won't be a problem.
Goblin Tower
Goblin Tower is a massive range monster in the backline that deals blast damage. Aim True ruleset helps this card which may impact great damage in the battlefield.
Prismologist
Prismologist is another great card which is almost the same impact with Goblin Tower. However, with General Sloan from the Life Splinter, this card damage could further improve a lot.
Desert Dragon
Desert Dragon is a powerful but slow monster that deals a great damage in the frontline. With the trample, retalliate and piercing abilities, this card must be able to hit those massive attack to be effective in the battle.

You might observe, I don't have any choice for water and death monsters, this is because most of the monster from this element do have a high damage with high speed. This means that you really won't be having much of a problem knowing if these monsters can land the attack.

Fire and Earth splinters have a lot of slow but high damage output monster which is why I usually choose these element for reverse speed or aim true.

Monster having a high armor can also be a good option for this ruleset as this may serve as a temporary protection in the battle.

Monster having these abilities can be use as well especially in dealing melee and range attack.

  • Protect - additional armor protection
  • Piercing - piercing through the enemies armor

Disadvantage Cards

I believe that monsters that falls under below condition do have disadvantage for the Aim True ruleset

  1. Monster with dodge ability including using of Astral Entity as a summoner
  2. Monster with flying ability
  3. Monster with high speed
  4. Monster with Phase ability
  5. Monster with blind or backfire ability

Team Composition

  • Summoner: Immortalis which reduce the magic attack since my play here is to have a tough monster in the frontline.
  • 1st Position: Mycelic Infantry in the frontline that deals a massive of 5 melee damage, can withstand attack from physical attack and with the help of Immortalis, including magic attack.
  • 2nd Position: Bramble Pixie supports the frontline by dealing reach attack from the second position and having the healing ability. This card also serves as the second tank.
  • 3rd Position: Goblin Psychic provides healing to Mycelic Infantry to sustain the frontline, however this card may be attack first because of the snipe ability. This card also weaken the magic damage of the enemies.
  • 4th Position: Goblin Tower with a high range attack including the blast effect which is pretty good with the target practice ruleset as it may damage three opponent in one attack. Of course with Aim True, all of the attack will land.
  • 5th Position: Hunter Jarx is another high damaging range monster which will help Goblin Tower dealing the same monster
  • 6th Position: Runemancer Florre with a double attack one magic and another range which is pretty good with Immortalis. Magic attack deals damage to the health (without any void armor) then triggering the shatter ability to provide opening to the range attack.

Battle Analysis

Looking at the opponent's lineup, here are the insight on the battle:

  1. Besides a level gap between summoners, Grandmaster Rathe void armor has been impacted and countered with the Immortalis shatter attack. Furthermore, there are 5 magic monsters which is affected by the void ability of Immortalis;
  2. Goblin Psychic silence ability further decrease the magic attack of those monsters. Adelade and Dr. Blight won't be causing any damage while the other 3 can deal only 1 magic damage;
  3. Uriel and Adelade flying ability won't be much of a use as all attack will hit due to Aim True. Mycelic Infantry have a big advantage over Uriel not only because of Aim True but with the Giant Killer which deals a massive of 10 melee damage;
  4. Goblin Tower massive attack will hit due to Aim True, dealing damage towards Uriel, Bila and Darius. The double resurrection might be use towards Bila instead of Uriel.

Round 1 to Round 2

R2.png

  • Uriel has been damaged heavily with the Mycelic Infantry attack.
  • The double ressurection has already been use towards Bila the Radiant twice because of the damage deal by snipe attacks from Runemancer Florre, Hunter Jarx, Goblin Tower and Goblin Psychic.

Round 2 to 3

R3.png

  • Uriel, Bila, Darius and Adelade has been defeated in the 2nd round with Mycelic Infantry lands another 10 massive damage towards Darius.
  • The battle has been sealed in Round 3 defeating the remaining monsters.

🎯 Closing Remarks

Aim true ruleset is truly a powerful ruleset wherein the monster raw attack is 100% utilized in the battle without worrying that it might not hit a target. Most of the monster with these powerful attack are usually slow in which a guaranteed attack is necessary.

The only thing with these slow monster is you need to ensure they will survive before they can attack. An armor can be a good option having this with either a monster with protect or monster that can affect opponents attack (demoralize, headwinds, silence).

Overall, A guaranteed hit is really what most of the monster need. This is one of the main factor why Byzantine Kitty is a very powerful summoner.

How do you think Aim True ruleset is?
