"You can't exercise away a McDonald's Big Mac meal" is something I always used to say, and still do.
There are so many reasons for people not being able to lose weight, and if exercise was the key, there would be many more people walking around at their ideal weight than there are.
Every year, in January, there is a huge rise in gym memberships.
Every year, over 300 new books come out with new programs and diets and yet, the obesity rate continues to rise.
It is not about exercise alone, diet alone or anything else, all on its own.
Today, a lady I met at a coffee shop mentioned "biology of belief" which is a book by Dr Bruce Lipton.
It's a book about Epi-genetics by the guy who originally was laughed/drummed out of the science world for his theories that it's our environment that dictates our health.
Epi-genetics means : the control above the genes.
Only by completely analyzing your physical environment, including our modern technology that we have lauded as the thing that makes us great, will each individual come to a realization about why they, as an individual cannot lose weight, or, take an incredibly long time to lose weight using exercise as their main tool.
Once they lose all the weight, they may also realise that this in and of itself, does not make them healthy.
On another note, many have a very limited knowledge of just what is effective in terms of which exercises to use and may be caught in the never ending "cardio as a weightloss solution" trap.
Resistance training and/or High intensity interval training styles of exercise are much more effective long term components to the whole equation, along with an eating strategy that is in line with your own environment, including, but not limited to, your geo-location.
The most influential variables are: where you live in relation to the equator and your personal mitochondrial heritage.
Calories in calories out is dead.
