Hello, and welcome to my blog. Today I want to relate my insight on the teaching, keeping promises to children Brought to us by Bro. Eli Soriano

Promise is an ansurrance to somebody or people that you will get sonething done in a specific time. Promises are made and broken and usually children are the sufferers of most broken promises why? Probably because they wouldn't do anything to the person who has broken his promose to them. However, the bible makes us understand that making promises and not keeping to them at the expected time can affect the promised person. Lets look at proverbs 13 verse 12

● Proverbs 13:12 (KJV):

Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.

Here it says that when you defer on a promise you made, the heart of the expecting person shall ache in other words he will be heart broken. For instance, u tell a child that u will get them a big toy on their birthday but for some reason, you defer, the heart of the child will ache because u have not kept to your words. However, when you fulfil your promise to that child, the child blooms with joy.

Ecclesiastes 5 verse 4 to 5 advices that it is better to not make promises than to make one and not keep it. It goes on to say that it is a fool who makes promises to God and not fulfil it.

● Ecclesiastes 5 : 4 -5 (KJV):

4 When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.
5 Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.

Todays topic is a very important one that may seem like nothing. In all you do, try not to make promises and just do what you can. Some people may promise to bring mayhem upon someone one they are conflicted with but proverbs 22 verse 1 tells us that we should not speak so highly of our selves in the coming day because we donnot know what tomorrow will be like. You might even make a promise which is clearly within your capacity but not be alive to fulfil it therefore, let us not make promises to children rather we can make them beautiful suprises that they never expect which will be better than an unfulfilled promise.

Remain Blessed !
