Last Friday, I was worried when my dog came home with an eye infection. I don’t know if she got it from a physical attack or if she’s just too clumsy. When I called her name, she came to me, and I noticed a big lump on her right eye. I felt bad because she was crying and making an annoyed sound when I touched it.
The first thing that came to my mind was that someone had beaten her up. But if that were the case, why would she still go outside if something traumatic had happened? I assumed that someone might have thrown a stone that hit her eye. My younger sister also told me that her nose was bleeding, so I tried to apply a warm compress. That was just my first aid since we couldn’t afford a veterinarian yet.
When my younger brother arrived, he asked me to search on Google Gemini for the proper first aid for her condition. It recommended Terramycin. I also checked if it was OTC, which led us to visit different drugstores.
The first pharmacy we went to was MDG. We asked if they had the ointment, but unfortunately, it wasn’t available.
Since my younger brother wanted to go to my late grandmother’s house, we visited first to have some coffee. My aunt gave me the payment for her order using my mom’s TikTok Shop account. She also gave us her rejected crops.
Afterward, we proceeded to the market to look for the medicine.
We headed first to the Mercury Drug branch near Friendship. After checking their inventory, the cashier said it wasn’t available. We then went to Southstar Drug, but they required a doctor’s prescription.
When we couldn’t find it, we went to other drugstores and kept hearing the same answer.
On the other side of the town proper, there were also Southstar Drug and Mercury Drug branches. We asked Southstar Drug first, and the pharmacist told us we needed a prescription. Mercury Drug again said it wasn’t available.
We also checked smaller drugstores, but they couldn’t provide what we were looking for.
Therefore, we had no choice but to buy it online. After checking the seller’s account and reviews, we found it legitimate. That’s why I ordered it, even though it was Buy Now, Pay Later. My sibling told me to cancel it since we planned to ask at a veterinary shop the next day.
The next day, we went to the shop to ask for the ointment. The seller told us they didn’t have it either.
That’s why our only option was to purchase it online. My dog seems fine now, as we’ve noticed her eye slowly healing. I believe she’ll recover in no time once we apply the ointment constantly.
Now, we’re happy because she’s slowly getting better. I am currently help my younger brother to drop her ointment 2-3 times a day. Maybe we should leash her again to avoid this problem. If we're going to do, we still need to walk her so she can exercise.
