I'm delighted to be back in the Worldmappin community to share a travel post. In this edition of posts, I want to share our travel experience at one of the tourist destinations in Sabang. As you can see in my posts, I've been sharing a lot of travel content on Sabang Island for the past few days. Indeed, our trip to Sabang left us with many memorable moments that are stored on our phones. So, there are many moments we can share with this beloved travel community. Our trip this time was to the Kilometer 0 Monument in Indonesia, a favorite and popular tourist destination. This tourist destination is a top destination for tourists traveling to Sabang Island, as it is the island's icon. Besides visiting the beautiful beaches and marine life, our main goal was to see the main icon of Sabang Island, and the monument is the main icon that is synonymous and authentic with Sabang Island. To reach the Indonesian Zero Kilometer Monument, we continued our journey along the main road, Jalan Cot Damar - Km 0, almost an hour's drive from Balohan Harbor. This monument is located at the westernmost tip of Weh Island, so we followed the road straight west, reaching the island's farthest point. Upon arrival, we entered a pristine and peaceful natural forest. There is no entrance fee; we only paid IDR 5,000 for motorcycle parking. These traditional markets, built along the roadside using wood and covered with tents or tarpaulins, appear simple, but they are numerous, built on both sides of the road, from the entrance to the monument. Once we arrived at the monument, it was time to take photos and capture moments to save on our phones. The weather was quite hot. We felt stifling while we were there. Luckily, there were also food and drink vendors. Since it was so hot, we bought cold drinks from vendors around the monument. The prices were still very affordable, comparable to those in the city. The monument appears circular, with a blue base dominating every wall. Its lower supports appear at an angle, supporting the second floor. This second floor can be climbed via stairs to the left and right of the monument. Facing west, the monument resembles a compass, with the lower supports pointing to the four directions: east, north, west, and south, representing the entire Indonesian archipelago. Meanwhile, at the top, I saw the Garuda symbol, the symbol of Indonesia, and the Rencong symbol, a typical symbol of the Aceh region. There are eight pillars standing at the top. I'm not sure what the philosophical meanings of each of these values are. Meanwhile, the most distinctive feature is the icon with the words "Sabang," "Kilometer 0 of Indonesia," painted in red and white, colors perhaps synonymous with the Indonesian flag. Upon closer inspection, we discovered that the monument is situated in a highland area, at the very end of the road, with a cliff leading to the sea. We were very impressed to have made the journey to this iconic monument; it was a truly valuable experience during our stay in Sabang. Pada edisi postingan kali ini saya ingin berbagi postingan tentang pengalaman perjalanan kami di salah satu destinasi wisata yang ada di sabang. Seperti yang anda lihat di dalam postingan saya, beberapa hari terakhir saya sering berbagi konten travel di pulau sabang. Memang, karena saat kami travel ke sabang meninggalkan banyak momen yang telah tersimpan di dalam ponsel kami. Sehingga ada banyak momen yang dapat bisa kami bagikan di komunitas travel yang kita cintai ini. Perjalanan kami kali ini adalah menuju ke Tugu Kilometer 0 Indonesia, destinasi wisata ini merupakan destinasi paling favorit dan populer. Destinasi wisata ini menjadi tujuan utama wisatawan jika melakukan traveling ke pulau Sabang, karena ini adalah ikon pulau Sabang. Selain kunjungan wisata kepantai dan alam bahari yang indah, tujuan utama kami adalah untuk melihat ikon utama Pulau Sabang, dan tugu itulah ikon utama yang identik dan otentik dengan pulau Sabang. Untuk menuju ke Tugu Nol Kilometer Indonesia, kami masih melanjutkan perjalanan di jalan lintas utama jalan Cot Damar - Km O, jaraknya hampir mencapi 1 jam perjalanan dari titik pelabuhan Balohan. Tugu ini berada di wilayah paling ujung barat pulau Weh, jadi perjalanan kami mengikuti arah lurus jalan ke wilayah barat, berada di titik terujung dari pulau ini. Sesampai di lokasi tugu ini, kita memasuki wilayah hutan alami yang masih asri dan menenangkan. Tidak ada pungutan liar untuk biaya masuk ke wilayah area tugu ini, kami hanya membayar jasa parkir senilai IDR 5 K untuk jenis kendaraan sepeda motor. Sebelum sampai ke tugu, kami harus berjalan kaki sejarak 100 meter ke arah barat, melewati jalan aspal dan pasar. https://youtube.com/shorts/yNT3gRbRdyg?si=Oc1OmmKRgP1qCV3X Di sepanjang jalan menuju ke tugu terdapat sejumlah pedagang kaki lima yang menjual oleh-oleh, mereka menjual pakaian yang telah diberikan gambar atau sablon khas pulau sabang, dan juga aneka oleh-oleh lainnya. Pasar-pasar tradisional tersebut dibangun dipinggir jalan menggunakan kayu dan ditutupi dengan tenda atau terpal, tampak sederhana, mereka tampak sangat banyak, dibangun di sisi kanan dan kiri jalan, mulai dari titik awal masuk hingga menuju ke tugu. Sesampai kami di tugu, saatnya untuk berfoto, mengambil momen untuk disimpan diponsel kami, pada waktu itu cuaca lumayan sangat panas. Kami merasakan gerah ketika berada di sini, beruntungnya di sini juga ada penjual minuman dan makanan, karena sangat gerah, kami membeli minuman dingin pada penjual disekitar tugu, harganya masih sangat terjangkau, sama dengan harga di kota. Tugu ini tampak dibuat melingkar dengan warna biru dasar yang mendominasi setiap temboknya. Penyangga bawahnya tampak sudut miring menopang lantai kedua, lantai kedua ini dapat kita naiki melalui jalur tangga disebelah kiri dan kanan tugu ini. Posisi tugu menghadap ke arah barat, sekilas tugu ini tampak seperti kompas, bagian penyangga bawah yang menunjuk 4 sisi arah, timur, utara, barat dan selatan, wilayah Indonesia secara utuh. Sementara itu, dibagian atas saya melihat ada simbol Garuda, lambang Indonesia, ada juga simbol Rencong, sebagai lambang khas wilayah Aceh, dibagian atas tersebut terdapat 8 tiang yang berdiri, saya tidak tahu pasti apa makna-makna filosopi setiap niali yang ada pada bangunan tugu ini. Sementara itu, yang menjadi khas adalah ikon dengan tulisan Sabang, Kilometer 0 Indonesia yang dicat dengan warna merah dan putih, sebagai warna yang mungkin identik dengan bendera Indonesia. Setelah kami lihat secara lebih mendetail, ternyata tugu ini berada di wilayah daratan tinggi, posisi tugu di paling ujung dari jalan, dimana di sisinya adalah bagian jurang yang mengarah ke laut. Kami sangat terkesan bisa melakukan perjalanan ke tugu yang ikonik ini, ini adalah pengalaman yang sangat berharga selama kami berada di Sabang.
