Alright then, and we’re back with another freewrite. As always, when I say we, I actually mean I unless otherwise indicated.
Well, I did finally finsih that piece of writing, other than one or two pictures which I need to add. Which happen to be on a phone which I don’t have access to at the moment, which is why you’re getting this post first. Oh well.
The problem really was that this morning, as I advanced toward my computer, bravery in my heart and mouse clutched in hand, I was determined to finish this up, and I figured it would be a relatively simple job - after all, I had thought pretty much the whole thing through! And then I sat down at the computer, opened up the document, and my mind went bank. Just like that. And suddenly, I’m stuck. I managed to wrestle my way through the first couple of sentences, but it just wasn’t going.
So I tried my usual brainstorming tactics - I want for a walk, let my mind drift - and somehow, it wouldn’t come. This was maddening - I’d spent much of the previous few days trying not to think of it, not to spoil it, and now that I needed to think about it, my brain wouldn’t let me. So I took a break, read for a while, took another walk or two - finally, inspiration struck! I raced home and turned to the computer, only to find its lone chair occupied, and it in use.
Fine! I could wait. But then after i waited, something went wrong - and I’d lost it again. And so the process began anew, reading, brainstorming, generally trawling through the spam of the internet and specifically steemit. And then, on a later walk - I had it again. I quickly raced home, only to find that history had repeated itself, as it is wont to do - the chair once again occupied, the computer once again in use.
Finally a few hours later I had it, and I had the opportunity to type, and I took advantage, typing to my heart’s desire. The problem - I can’t help but feel it would have been better had I typed it when the mood was upon me yesterday, or even one of the previous times today. Oops.
And I have to wonder - does this sort of thing happen to others? Yes, I know of the existence of Murphy’s Law, and yet this seems like the universe’s way of punishing me in particular for my misdeeds and procrastination. Thought I can’t help but feel that if the universe were punishing me for my misdeeds, there are other misdeeds which would top the list. We’’l just add those to the list of things we won’t talk about.
Anyways. Since it’s been on my mind all day, I think I should mention the planned order of posting, which will probably derail, because that’s just how my life works. I’ll presumably continue to post these daily freewrites every day where my schedule allows, I’m not locked up in some sort of asylum, and nothing unexpected comes up. I’ll also probably post this story tonight, and maybe one or two related pieces at some later point. What else… let’s see, i think I’ll post some random macros of flowers, possibly with descriptions, since I’ve been taking advantage of the scenery on my many walks to snap some nice shots. There may also be one or two shots from the overflowing stream near my home.
I think that’s all. Back to the insanity! Umm actually, I’m right at the 20 minute mark, so I think I’ll stop here. See you tomorrow.
Hyperbole out.
Footnote: as per usual this was written free write style, nothing corrected more than 3 seconds after being typed (sorry, that's just instinctual). Pictures added curtesy of pixabay.com, first one with @nonameslefttouse in mind (I did promise to put in something red).
