No suponer.

As @damarysvibra says in her introduction to this initiative, to communicate it is not enough to speak the same language. In my opinion, it is not enough for the elements to be present for communication to take place if there is no intention to communicate. There may be a sender, a receiver, a message, codes and channels, but if we do not know how to listen and speak, communication will not be effective.
For me, the objective of communication is to understand each other and reach a consensus, otherwise it makes no sense to engage in a dialogue with a person without the message being understood by both parties. A few years ago I was unable to reach an agreement with a co-worker, who gave bad service to a customer and when I approached her alone to explain what had happened, instead of accepting the suggestions, the woman became exalted and acted aggressively. At that moment I realized that dialogue is to reach a consensus, if you can't, it is better to ignore and turn the page.
When asked if I usually practice constructive dialogue, the answer is totally positive, I do not like misunderstandings and I do not like to pretend that I understood something to look good with the other person, I prefer to pass as a questioner when I receive an instruction to avoid making mistakes that can end in unpleasant consequences. In constructive dialogue, the rules of the good speaker and good listener are key, where paying attention and empathy play an important role in understanding the other person and being able to reach an understanding.
In my particular case, I find it easy to dialogue with the healthy intention of reaching an agreement, and that is why I avoid at all costs doing "things" during communication that I don't like to be done to me. Although I tend to make some mistakes, I am aware of them and I am always in the process of eradicating them completely. There are several aspects that I do not tolerate during communication and that we obviously should not do:
Interrupting while the other person is speaking. It is a clear sign of not knowing how to listen and it is obvious that the rules of good speaker and good listener are not being applied. In my place of work, this happened to me with two coworkers, they did not let me finish a sentence and started talking, it is very unpleasant and difficult to maintain communication with someone like that. It is like a monologue when they are present and a conversation is between two or more people, it is totally unfortunate and very unpleasant. In the end, there was no communication at all.
You have to listen carefully and wait for the other person to finish expressing themselves and then have your turn in the conversation.
Do not assume. Knowing how to listen is key, we must wait for the other person to express all their feelings, under no circumstances should we interrupt the conversation to infer what the other person wants to say.
We must:
Apply the rules of the good speaker and good listener, in addition to maintaining serenity and eloquence. During the dialogue we must avoid getting excited if there is a point that displeases us. Thinking before speaking is a good way to order our ideas and not fall into confrontations, remember that the intention is to reach an agreement.
