Steem Power is converted to Steem in 4 weeks (28 days) time, with 25% of the SP powered down back to liquid Steem every seven days.
It is our original idea that PNUT serve as a "liquidity unleasher" of Vote Power. By upvoting a post, the author and curators can only receive the rewards (which can be 100% SP or 50% SP + 50% Steem/SBD depending on the post settings) after 7 days. For SP, it takes another 28 days to fully convert into liquid Steem which can be traded.
By delegating SP to Nutbox, you exchange your Vote Power for PNUT, which can be traded right after you Harvest it.
So we can think of Nutbox like a pawn shop where you take things that are valuable but hard to sell (such as jewellery, antiques etc) and sell it at a discounted price for immediate cash.
