Akito rode Rinko's bike through the deadly fog toward the tower, but a Hanaya pulled down a heavy banner, causing a high-speed crash. Escaping the wreckage into a fog-free zone, Akito and KK encountered Rinko's soul, who bid a final farewell before peacefully passing on to the afterlife.
I pushed Akito through all the previous underwater oil and bike component fetch quests just to ride the motorcycle into the haunted city, but it ended up playing out in an automated cinematic sequence.
While Akito drove through the dense fog, KK tasked him with hitting a specialized switch on the bike to engage a protective energy barrier, preventing the toxic fog from harming them as they cut through the highway.
Akito demonstrated his natural riding talent, having been an experienced biker before the paranormal cataclysm by expertly navigating the motorcycle to dodge aggressive attacks from a persistent Hanaya along the road.
Determined to reach the central tower, Akito kept revving the engine and pushing forward, but the Hanaya executed one last desperate trap to halt their progress along the expressway.
The Hanaya pulled down a massive overhead banner directly into Akito's path, forcing him to slam on the brakes and violently crash the bike. Although Akito managed to strike the demon during the wipeout, KK warned that the danger was far from over.
Regaining control in the aftermath, I discovered a localized clearing completely free of the surrounding corruption fog, allowing me to resume moving on foot toward the Tokyo Tower ahead.
As we advanced toward the base of the tower, KK spotted the lingering spirit of Rinko waiting nearby and urged Akito to sprint over to reach her quickly.
Rinko revealed to KK that this specific location was where her physical life ended in deep regret, explaining that she was finally ready to let go of the mortal world as her remaining business was finished.
Reaching out to touch Akito's hand which KK was using to channel his consciousness, Rinko dissolved peacefully into light, leaving only her empty clothes behind.
KK explained that her attachment to Erika was the final chain keeping her bound to this real, and now there's nothing else that'd keep her bound to this world so she left.
We'll continue in another post.
