I remember well the day I heard the word persistence more clearly. The year was 2013 in the month of October. I traveled more than 300km to participate in training for a company that that year I had started. There was no obligation, the company did several trainings around the country, and whoever wanted to go would go. But in this case, he was a coach that I only saw on social media at events away from my home. So when he was close to “300km” I went.
What he said and said on stage if it's true about his life, I don't know. After a while I stopped believing anyone who comes up and talks nice (but that is a subject for another post). But the message itself moved me a lot.
2013 was the year that started to change my life and the way I saw it mainly in the financial sense. 2013 was the last year that I received a salary.
It's been almost 8 years of living a different life that started back there. At a time when I decided to seek my happiness and my freedom. When I was going to various trainings, studying and learning more about the world of sales and at the same time reading books to change my mind. For me to grow both professionally and personally.
But not everything was easy, I have already commented on several posts about my life in this regard. I don't want to say that I'm good, far from it, but I know and believe that not just anyone can do what I did and follow my path. I tried and showed it to several friends and even today they work in the same place and being “hostage” to the salary. Not that they are wrong, but this life for me today I can't feel safe anymore. However, during all these years I have wanted several times to have this “insurance” of the salary that many have.
The journey is long, tiring, hard and requires you to work hard, but much more than before when you are just an employee.
Today, I am happy, I feel better qualified and a good part of it is accomplished. I have not yet achieved everything I desire, but I have experience to live like this.
If today I arrived here and continue to do so, it is because back in 2013 in the training I went to, I attend the lecture on Patience and Persistence. The patience that I have until today and the persistence that I have always maintained have brought me here and allow me to live the way I always wanted to. FREE.
This post is my entry for POB Word of the Week
